Sarah Ferguson says the corgis she adopted from late Queen are ‘happy’ and getting over their grief

Sarah Ferguson has revealed that the corgis she adopted after Queen Elizabeth’s death are “very happy” and seem to be recovering from their grief.

The 63-year-old Duchess of York made the comments during an interview with Rylan Clark on his BBC Radio 2 show.

When she appeared on the program to discuss her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady, the royal family shared how the two dogs, Muick and Sandy, are doing.

They moved into Royal Lodge, the Windsor home she shares with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, following Her Majesty’s death last September.

When Rylan asked how the dogs are doing, Sarah replied, “They’re great, they’re very happy, and their tails are up now, so I think they’re over their grief.”

Describing the corgis, which were a gift to the Queen from Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Eugenie after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, the royal family said they are “so sweet.”

She added, “I think they were trained by her [the Queen] for being so gentle.

“If you take a little digestive biscuit and break it with her little hands like she used to… she must have put a little biccie in front of it, and they take it gently.”

The Duchess was photographed arriving at the studio in London in a bright pink leather-look coat she wore to a festival in Los Angeles last month.

She paired the vibrant garment with a black midi dress and a pair of velvet slippers adorned with a sparkling crown.

The mother-of-two wore her auburn locks loose around her shoulders and completed her look with a pair of sparkly earrings and a long necklace.

Her final appearance comes after Sarah appeared on This Morning to promote the novel.

During that interview last Thursday, she praised her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, for their hard work, saying that the York family is a “supporting unit.”

After publicly showing her support for Prince Andrew when he was taken to court over sexual assault allegations, which he has always denied, the Duchess said she will always stand by her ex-husband, just as he has always supported her.

She told presenters Holly Willoughby and Joel Dommett that the family “symbolizes no judgement, kindness and progress.”

Fergie discussed the importance of “walking forward as a unit” during difficult times, and criticized the social media “sewers” for being unkind.

Last year, the Duke of York, 63, settled out of court with Ms Giuffre in a payment that has not been disclosed but is believed to have amounted to around £10 million.

Fergie discussed her support for her ex-husband, saying, “It’s Beatrice, Eugenie and me. We are a family unit.

“My girls stand for service, they stand for having and holding down very, very hard jobs and they are mothers and they are public figures and they do charity work.

She continued, “They are extraordinary examples of princesses in service, what their grandmother taught them and what I taught them, with humility.

“So I think the unity of the York family is a symbol of non-judgment, kindness and moving forward to make people sit up and stop. Stop believing all this what you read… walk forward as a unit.

Fergie added: “Remember, I’ve been through some tough times and he’s always stood by me.”
