Sarah Ferguson looks solemn as she’s spotted leaving Royal Lodge with Andrew after coronation snub

Sarah Ferguson made a solemn figure this afternoon when she was spotted leaving the Royal Lodge in Windsor following her coronation disapproval.

The 63-year-old Duchess of York was seen in the passenger seat of a Range Rover driven by her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

The mother-of-two was dressed casually in a tan blazer, shirt and black round glasses.

Meanwhile, Prince Andrew, 63, wore a navy blue jumper over a red shirt as she 4×4 out of the complex.

It was reported earlier this week that the Duchess of York is not expected to attend the coronation next month – despite the fact that Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will be there.

Experts claim King Charles decided not to invite Sarah Ferguson to the historic event because she is an ’embarrassment’ and is no longer a member of the Royal family.

Royal commentator Tom Bower told MailOnline that Sarah had ruled herself out because of her previous ‘behavior’.

He added that her presence would “provoke critical comments that Charles does not need.”

And king expert Richard Fitzwilliams praised the king’s “extremely wise” decision as it has “embarrassed the royal family for years.”

But the apparent decision has taken some royal viewers by surprise — with Meghan Markle’s friend Omid Scobie tweeting, “If true, this feels kind of cruel, doesn’t it?”

It comes after royal officials revealed that Prince Harry will be at the coronation, but without his wife and the couple’s children Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking of Sarah’s absence, Mr Bower said she will be left out ‘because she is not a member of the royal family’.

He added that she had excluded herself “because of her past conduct” and said: “Her presence would provoke critical remarks that Charles does not need.”

One of Sarah’s most embarrassing moments was when photos were published showing her toes being sucked by her financial advisor John Bryan at her vacation villa in St. Tropez, while also showing them kissing, hugging and frolicked in the pool.

She also reportedly had a split with her once close friend, Princess Diana, after she claimed she developed verrucas after borrowing a pair of her shoes. They were reportedly still not talking at the time of Diana’s death in 1997.

And in 2010, she apologized after being secretly admitted and offered to sell access to Andrew in exchange for £500,000.

Mr Fitzwilliams told MailOnline: ‘The decision not to invite Sarah Ferguson is extremely wise and should be applauded. She has been an embarrassment to the royal family for years.

She gives embarrassing interviews over and over again, there seems to be no end to it.

“Sometimes a dignified silence is required, which she seems incapable of.”

Sarah attended the Queen’s funeral at Westminster Abbey last September, but was not one of 30 guests for Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.

She was not invited to Prince William and Kate’s wedding in 2011, saying she went on holiday to Thailand instead – but did attend Harry and Meghan’s wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in May 2018.

Speaking of the coronation, one of Sarah’s friends told the Independent: ‘She is very supportive of Charles and Camilla and doesn’t want this to be about her.

“The whole day revolves around the new king and the success of his reign, but she has always defended the royal family and no doubt the queen would have wanted her to be there.”

Her lack of invitation to the coronation comes despite Andrew turning up at the Easter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, although her ex-husband is still barred from most of life within the royal family.

Sarah herself has also enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent months, having been invited to join King Charles and other senior royals at Sandringham for Christmas, as well as looking after the late Queen’s corgis.

She was also a favorite of the late Queen and they were known to spend a lot of time together, including walks in Windsor Park.

They knew each other before Sarah’s marriage to Andrew because her father Major Ronald Ferguson was the royal polo manager.

Last month, while talking to Glamor editor Samantha Barry, Sarah revealed she didn’t receive an invite to the coronation — jokingly saying it was “TBD” whether she’d eventually go.

The invitations haven’t gone out yet. Do they have?’ she asked when asked if she plans to go.

Sarah also insisted the lack of an invite didn’t bother her, saying: “Well I’ve decided it’s best to be British around a coronation – although I’ve never been there – I think we should , I’d like a tea room at the end of the driveway with flags and pastries.’

Just over a week ago, she spoke of her continuing grief at the Queen’s death, but also of her admiration for Charles.

In a interview to promote her new historical fiction book “A Most Intriguing Lady,” Sarah shared OK! magazine: ‘I have known both the king and the queen’s consort since childhood.

“I think when you look at the King’s track record in areas like the environment, where he was decades ahead of his time, and the Prince’s Trust, it’s clear what an extraordinary man he is and how lucky we are to have to have him on the throne. .

“I also admire the way the Queen Consort has worked tirelessly in areas such as literacy and domestic violence.”

While speaking to Royal Central to promote her new book, Sarah also revealed that she is considering writing another autobiography.

Fergie has already written two memoirs of her own – the first being My Story, published in 1996, just months after her divorce from Andrew was finalized.

She then wrote Finding Sarah, which came out in 2011 after another period of financial woes.

Any new autobiography will likely cover more recent years, including the period surrounding Andrew’s very public fall from grace.

Despite the couple being separated for almost 30 years, they would still remain best friends and live together.

Andrew is also rumored to be considering printing his own side of recent events, but sources close to the disgraced king have denied this.
