Woman confronts alleged racist who told her to ‘go back to Asia’ at her local shopping centre

A Sydney woman has chased down and confronted an alleged racist after he ‘messed with the wrong Asian’ in a busy shopping centre.

Sara, 38, described the moment the man allegedly told her to “go back to bloody Asia” at the East Village Shopping Center in Zetland, in the south of the city, last Friday.

“As I was walking up the escalators from the parking lot and into the mall, a man came up to me and said angrily in my ear, ‘go back to pushing Asia out,’” she said.

‘Now it’s been quite a few years since I’ve been on the receiving end of such overt racism, and I still maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards this type of behaviour.

‘So I immediately and very loudly confronted him about his mean behavior when he walked into the fruit and vegetable shop.’

She told her followers not to repeat her actions as it could be risky.

“But I do have a short fuse, I’m an eye-for-an-an-eye kind of girl and I have a strong sense that justice should be served,” she explained.

After following the man to a nearby supermarket, she asked him to repeat what he said to her face before calling him a “racist pig.”

Sara then called the man a “racist coward” as he walked away from her, before glancing back and silently giving her a thumbs up.

“Racist coward, say it again to my face,” Sara adds before the video ends.

She said she shared the footage because “it would be great if his employer, colleagues – if he even has a job – friends and family could see exactly what kind of person he is.”

Sara has had no shortage of support for her viral posts, which have racked up hundreds of comments and more than 33,000 views on TikTok and Instagram.

“Omg Sara, I’m so sorry this happened to you!! But you are also iconic. You go girl!’ wrote one woman.

‘YES SARA! Your delivery is everything!!!! So articulate and confident,” said a second.

A third described Sara as ‘an amazing person’ and called the man’s alleged comments ‘disgraceful and superficial’.

“What an absolutely grubby specimen,” agreed a fourth.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Sara for further comment.
