Saquon Barkley shades Giants owner John Mara over offseason comments in new commercial

Saquon Barkley used his new partnership with Unisom to make hilarious comments about New York Giants owner John Mara.

The Philadelphia Eagles star running back posted a new commercial for the sleep aid brand, in which he reads a lullaby to fans who were “having trouble sleeping.”

“I hope some of you had trouble sleeping, so I wrote you a lullaby,” Barkley says as he lies in bed with a Unisom sleep mask on his forehead.

“Rockabye baby, awake in your bed,” Barkley began chanting. ‘While the thought of 2000 swirls through your head. It’s certainly hard to lose sleep over football. But not for me; good night everyone.’

Social media users think it was a dig at his former team after Mara went viral this offseason for saying, “I’m going to have a hard time sleeping if Saquon goes to Philadelphia, I can tell you that.”

The comments were made on an offseason episode of Hard Knocks when the Giants were figuring out where to trade Barkley.

Mara’s fears came true when the 27-year-old signed a three-year deal to join their rivals in the City of Brotherly Love.

Since arriving in Philadelphia, Barkley has rushed for 2,005 yards.

He is now 101 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s all-time rushing record. However, it is unlikely that Barkley would reach the milestone as the Eagles decided to rest him for the final game of the regular season against none other than the Giants.

In addition to his yards, Barkley rushed for 13 touchdowns and received two this season.

Barkley spent the first six seasons of his career with the Giants, where he rushed for 5,211 yards and 35 touchdowns.

After leaving East Rutherford, Barkley found great success with the Eagles, who led the NFC East with a 13-3 record.
