Saoirse Ronan details talking ‘butt naked’ after skinny dipping with her castmates, being treated like ‘s**t’ on set and dealing with her temper as she discusses her wide-ranging career
Saoirse Ronan received her first Oscar nomination at the age of 13 and has had a hugely successful career to date that has spanned more than twenty years.
So it’s no surprise that the Irish actress, 29, has more than a few stories to tell about her time on set and the experiences she’s had over the years.
To talk with Harper’s BazaarSaoirse talked about her most intimate memories with castmates, how she was treated like “s**t” on set and controlled her temper.
Saoirse, who met her boyfriend Jack Lowden on the set of her 2018 film Mary Queen of Scots, regularly leaves London to explore the countryside with the actor.
Her love of the outdoors is something she has also shared with her cast mates, as she recalled last year when she was filming in the Orkneys.

Saoirse revealed that all of the women in the cast and crew went for a skinny dip in the sea at dawn, before getting out and chatting “ass-naked.”
She said: When we got out, we talked and talked, naked. It was so beautiful. It was a full moon that night and there was a strong feminine energy around us all day long.
“And that’s kind of magical, because… women can practically kill each other. We can be the worst. But if you have other women in your corner, they will defend you like no other. If you have that – which I always had from my mother – you carry it with you all your life.’
Saoirse admitted that not all of her experiences on film sets have been positive, showing that she’s been treated “both very, very well and ‘s**t.”
She said, “If you’ve worked your way up as an actor and had pretty extensive experience, you’ve played small roles and played major roles. You will have been treated very well, you have been treated like shit. You’ve been used, you’ve been taken care of. I think there’s a real humility to that.’
The four-time Oscar nominee admitted that there are times when her mood can get out of hand, but insisted it hadn’t happened in a while.
Discussing an outlet for her anger, she said, “Oh, I’ve punched pillows, kicked bushes.” Very childish. I’d say that’s very childish, although I haven’t gotten super angry in a while, which is quite an achievement for me.’
During her personal time, Saoirse and Jack live between Ireland, Scotland, the US, London and the various places in the world their work takes them.

Concerned? The couple sparked engagement rumors earlier this summer when he shared a photo of a hand wearing a dazzling diamond ring on the wedding finger. But they have yet to confirm the speculation
While the couple rarely comment publicly on their relationship, they are often out and about together — and Jack occasionally shares photos of Saoirse on his Instagram page.
But in an interview earlier this year, he couldn’t resist telling his partner iNews: ‘My first love are actors. And when you get a Ferrari like them, it’s about how to make everything right so the Ferrari can show off.
Don’t let a Ferrari do what a Renault Clio does. It’s a terrible analogy, but they’re like gold dust, good actors.
“If there is such a person, all you have to do is facilitate him and you will get gold. And my God, we did.’

However, he hinted that he preferred to keep his relationship as private as possible, adding: “I’m not an idiot…We really appreciate the amount of control we have…We are treated well, but we don’t. look it up too.
“People have had it much worse. It is clearly also of our own making. Whatever – as long as we have each other, we’re all fine with that.’
Meanwhile, he also revealed that he is “not competitive” with his girlfriend, telling the Big Issue, “I would lose.” There’s just no competition, because there’s no competition.’
