Veteran newsreader Sandra Sully reveals her most embarrassing live TV moment after more than 30 years on the air: ‘I could barely finish the bulletin’
Sandra Sully recalls one of her most embarrassing live TV moments after more than three decades on the air.
The veteran newscaster revealed on the I have news for you podcast, she once struggled to finish a bulletin about a kangaroo “playing with his testicles.”
[At the end of my broadcast]“I would pitch to sports and they had a play of the day,” the Channel 10 presenter explained.
“I usually got a chance to watch it and one time I was busy and they didn’t put it in the schedule and they waited until I was on the air. I didn’t even get a chance to look at the photos.’
‘[The story] was a golf tournament and there was a mob of kangaroos on the course. The game had to be stopped because this kangaroo decided to play with his testicles.’

Sandra explained that she wasn’t expecting it and couldn’t finish her news bulletin.
“It was international coverage and the team put music to it. I was not expecting it and could barely finish the bulletin. It was about 11:30 pm,” she added.
Elsewhere in the interview, Sandra revealed that she used to have a tattoo on her tooth.
“I had a daisy tattoo on my tooth and it has since been removed. I had a ceramist and when he knew he was making me a crown, he put a daisy on my crown,” she explained.
“But I had to have the crown replaced.”

It comes months after Sandra was unknowingly caught in a live TV bust after 10 News First accidentally broadcast blooper footage.
The clip shows the news anchor tongue-tied as he tries to tell a story about Florida’s latest hurricane evacuation orders.
Sully seemed frustrated as she fumbled over her words, shook up her papers, and looked down.
The screen then suddenly went black, before the commercials started playing.
Oddly enough, footage of Sully’s blooper was then played a second time. It then suddenly speeds up, plays backward, and finally goes black.
Sully’s blooper was actually pre-recorded in Sydney hours before it aired in Brisbane, according to TV Blackbox.

That did not go unnoticed, as several viewers then expressed their confusion on Twitter.
“Channel 10 News is in trouble,” one tweeted, while another wrote, “Hope Sandra Sully is okay – TV is making weird jumps.”
Sully finally responded after a viewer speculated that her blooper was “a test drive that accidentally aired.”
“Not at all tbh – just a few technical issues tonight folks – thanks for sticking with us,” she replied.
