Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock thrilled fans Monday morning when she made a surprise television appearance to celebrate her 60th birthday, just one year after the death of her partner Bryan Randall.
The Speed actress, who celebrated her 60th birthday on July 26, appeared on the Today show after recording a special video message for her close friend and host Hoda Kotb, who celebrated her 60th birthday on August 9.
Bullock, who lost her partner Bryan to ALS on August 5 last year, admitted she felt “too tired” but also described her new decade as “fucking amazing” as she spoke directly to the camera from her luxury Los Angeles home.
She began her post: ‘Hoda, Hoda, Hoda, Hoda… I had so many brilliant and funny things prepared for you, for this post, that I would just love it, but you know girl, I’m just too tired!
“Tired because I had to get up that mountain before you got there, so I could see the terrain and see what it’s like. And get the feel, so I could tell you more.”

Bullock continued, “And it’s weird, because people seem to want us to be afraid of what it might look like when we get there. It turns out to be pretty damn awesome, it’s pretty awesome.”
Then she used a certain word several times, but it was bleeped out: ‘And for [muted] like you – we can say [muted] in the morning? Because I know you can say it in the afternoon, right? You can definitely say it in the evening and on streaming, but [muted] I know you can’t say that.
Kotb and her co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, couldn’t help but laugh as Sandra continued, “But once you get to the top of the mountain where you’re getting ready to go, you can say it because it doesn’t matter anymore, everything is amazing because you made it that way.
“Thank you for being so incredible to so many people. What you do for a living and how you have to shapeshift every day, how you navigate your kindness even when it’s not what’s in store for you, how you are for the people you care about and how you keep them safe, and just who you are as a human being.”
She added: ‘We are all lucky to have you, especially your children. So congratulations dear friend. Thank you for letting me be in your circle, I am so grateful and I put your bar up here so we can look at the view, it is beautiful but I need you here, congratulations,’ before blowing her a kiss.
While returning to Kotb live from the Plaza, the mother of two said, “Wow, that’s way too much, way too much,” to which Bush Hager responded, “I know, but don’t you love what she said about navigating the terrain and how beautiful it looks?”
Kotb recalled at the time, “And the reason I have Haley and Hope is because I was looking for inspiration for someone who was a mother at my age, and Sandra Bullock came along. I called her and said, ‘Tell me about motherhood,’ and she said, ‘It’s the best decision I’ve ever made,’ and from that moment on she took the lead in finding these two,” referring to her two daughters, who were in the audience.
Bullock is the mother of two children, Louis, 14, and Laila, 11, whom she adopted in 2010 and 2015 respectively.

Last month, it was reported that the Miss Congeniality actress was “doing pretty well” and was focusing on her children as she entered a new decade – almost a year after the death of her partner.
Bullock was in a relationship with Randall from 2015 until his death at age 57 in August 2023. The actress called him “the love of my life.”
A source close to Bullock’s girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, 55, told People: ‘She’s doing great now. Her kids are great. She’s very happy to be a mother.
“Her friends gave her the support she needed, both during his illness and after. She is grateful for all the love. Everyone helped cheer her up after Bryan passed.”
