The Champions League final is being moved to a new stadium after the San Siro Stadium was stripped of its hosting role.
The iconic stadium was due to host the tournament’s pinnacle in 2027, but following a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in Prague on Tuesday it was decided that a new venue will be found.
The decision comes after the Milan city council could not guarantee that the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza would not be affected by the planned renovations.
A statement from UEFA said: ‘The Municipality of Milan could not guarantee that the San Siro Stadium and its surroundings would not be affected by the renovation works’
