An agreement is in place for the NFL franchise, which already owns 44 percent of the club, to take full control beginning in January 2024.
That deal is believed to be contingent on Leeds staying in the Premier League and is widely seen, if that was the case, as a formality.
An unnamed party has shown surprising interest in stealing a gear from the San Francisco 49ers.
However, sources have revealed that an as-yet-unnamed third party has shown keen interest in stealing the lead from the 49ers and taking over Elland Road.
In what is an intriguing situation, it remains to be seen if the Middle East-based group will make a serious offer. In fact, his interest is known to be in the “very early” stages.
But the news is likely to come as a surprise to the 49ers, who have been increasingly influential behind the scenes.
The US franchise’s investment arm, 49ers Enterprises, has shaken the hand of owner Andrea Radrizzani on an option believed to be worth more than £400m, which includes the Elland Road property.
But there is nothing stopping a third party from entering the race, and now all eyes will be on whether that will be the case.
