WWE fans are outraged over rumors that The Rock, who made a shock return to SmackDown last week, would replace Cody Rhodes in a main event match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania in April.

“We’re off to a good start and I think it’s great, that’s the question I’ve been wanting,” Kittle said when asked about the controversy surrounding The Rock. “It’s fun to see everything online and everyone’s talking about ‘#WeWantCody’ or it’s Roman and the Rock.

Fans have called for Cody Rhodes to ‘finish his story’ after a two-year run against Reigns

“Honestly, my dream would be some kind of setup. Roman shows up – I saw this online – Roman shows up and signs a contract. Cody is on the other side, the Rock referees. Wouldn’t that be fun and special? That’s not my own idea, but I thought it was very cool.’
Wrestling fanatics have blasted the apparent booking decision to have the WWE legend face Reigns for the Universal Championship after spending two years building up Cody Rhodes who finally ‘concluded his story’ by defeating Reigns for the title.
They have also expressed their displeasure personally by calling out The Rock during live shows.
During a Raw segment featuring Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, fans at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri once again found the perfect time to make their opinions heard by singing “Rocky Sucks.”
It has also been mentioned that fan reaction could play into WWE’s hands if the company’s long-term plan was to put on a triple threat match between The Rock, Rhodes and Reigns.
That type of match, combined with fan reaction, would give Rhodes a similar boost to the one that elevated ALL Elite Wrestling star Bryan Danielson (formerly Daniel Bryan) to one of the biggest stars in the industry.

The Rock’s daughter, WWE superstar Ava, claimed she received death threats over the drama
She posted her claim on X and called on angry fans to keep her out of the situation
Kittle’s idea was one of many circulating among fans online, in case WWE does indeed choose to change the apparent plan of The Rock vs Reigns, or the possibility that the company has just pulled off a massive “work” to get fans into to lure the trap. that one thing happens to do another.
The specific idea would involve Reigns too confidentially signing the contract for the WrestleMania match believing he is facing The Rock, but not actually reading the contract and later being surprised by the fact that he is facing Rhodes with The Rock as the special guest referee to stop the constant outside interference that has plagued every Reigns title match for the past three years.
Rhodes has also received public support from WWE Champion Logan Paul and fellow superstar Ricochet, both of whom joined in on the “WeWantCody” hashtag that trended on X for days.
The video of The Rock coming face-to-face with Reigns has also become the most disliked video ever posted by WWE on YouTube. Anger over the WWE’s decision has even led to The Rock’s daughter, WWE superstar Ava, receiving death threats over the outrage over the potential Rock vs. Reigns match.
Ava is currently cast in the role of General Manager for WWE’s developmental brand NXT.
