Samuel L Jackson surprised Scottish club-goers when he made a surprise appearance to see a drag performance at a Bongo’s Bingo party in Glasgow on Saturday night.

The 74-year-old actor delighted locals with the unusual night at the SWG3 venue, where he was seen laughing from the side of the stage.

The Hollywood star smiled as she filmed the show on her phone and it looked like she was having a lot of fun.

It comes after Samuel and his wife of 42 years, LaTanya Richardson, had a fight at a theater gala in January that led to him leaving early despite the couple being honored, according to a report.

The actor and his 73-year-old actress wife were attending the Theater Communications Group gala in New York City when the alleged incident occurred.

LaTanya is also currently conducting her husband in August Wilson’s revival of The Piano Lesson on Broadway.

A representative for the gala issued a statement to Page Six that said: “As the breakout star of The Piano Lesson, Mr. Jackson is extraordinarily cautious about the risk of jeopardizing the production by being exposed to COVID-19.

‘EM. Jackson agreed on behalf of her and her husband simply to minimize the risk of exposure to her. Mr. Jackson had only planned to take photos and then leave, as everyone involved in planning the event knew in advance.

“It was a magical evening and they helped raise a record fundraiser of over $300,000 to support TCG’s mission to create a more just and equitable theatrical ecology.”

Samuel and LaTanya have a long love affair, having met when they were both in college in 1970.

They eventually married in 1980 and have one child, Zoe Jackson, a 40-year-old independent film and television producer.

Last year, Samuel credited his wife with helping him overcome his drug addiction.

He said that, early in their relationship, he had been found “passed out” as a result of drug use and LaTanya arranged for him to be taken to a rehab clinic.

Jackson noted that there was one day in particular that prompted his wife to seek help for her troubled husband.

The Pulp Fiction star said People in March 2022 that when his wife “found me passed out on the floor of the house or whatever I’d been outside the bachelor party or something,” he called for professional help.

“She could have just said, you know, go away, whatever and just let me out into the world, let me go and be whatever I was going to be,” he said.

Speaking of his addiction taking a toll on him, he added: “I had basically moved into the basement of our brownstone.”

Jackson also offered a bit of insight into her behavior at the time, noting that she had withdrawn from loved ones.

“He was like the troll in the basement, and every once in a while he would go upstairs and hang around to do something. He was addicted and he was crazy,’ he said.

LaTanya admitted that she “felt like” leaving him for the period of time, but felt it was her religious duty to stay and help.

The actor’s wife recalled: ‘I would have done that. I felt like doing that. But I come from a very God fearing family. So I couldn’t do that.

She then commented that she felt she owed it to a higher power to seek help for her troubled husband.
