Samsung’s popular Magician SSD software has a critical flaw: here’s what to do if you use it on a Samsung SSD
It has been reported that Samsung’s Magician SSD software, which is widely used to manage Samsung’s various memory products ranging from internal SSDs and portable SSDs to memory cards and USB flash drives, has a critical flaw.
According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s National Vulnerability Database, this flaw is referred to as CVE-2024-23769can potentially expose sensitive data to local attackers.
The vulnerability lies mainly in the incorrect privilege management for the mentioned pipe in Samsung Magician PC Software version 8.0.0 for Windows. This flaw could allow a local attacker to read privileged data, which could be a significant security issue for users.
