Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra owners can expect another camera upgrade with One UI 7

The One UI 7 beta could be available in just a few days, and the software is expected to bring major updates to older phones, as well as newer devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.

According to a well-known tipster Ice Universe (through Android Authority) the upcoming software update has “significantly optimized” the Samsung Galaxy 24 Ultra’s rear camera, bringing “higher clarity” to photos and videos.

According to recent leaks, One UI 7 will bring a significant visual overhaul, seemingly taking some inspiration from iOS 18. Expect more rounded corners, smoother animations, and changes to the notification shade, among other updates.

We were already expecting camera performance improvements with the One UI 6.1. 1 update coming in August, but it looks like this isn’t the end of the camera optimizations on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

A history of updates

The S24 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S24 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus only launched in January, but we’ve already seen numerous fixes and upgrades from Samsung, largely focused on camera updates.

Issues with inaccurate white balance and abnormal reds have already been addressed in previous updates for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and that came after improvements to shutter speed, video brightness, and exposure.

On the one hand, it would be better if everything worked as well as possible right away, but it’s also good to see that Samsung is making an effort to fix everything that goes wrong, even if it takes multiple attempts.

It’s not yet known exactly when the One UI 7 update will be released, but we’ll have to wait until One UI 6.1. 1 is released first. According to for those who knowOne UI 7 is still in a pretty buggy state, so it might take a while before the version is available for everyone.
