Samir Nasri blasts ex-France boss Didier Deschamps, accusing him of ‘taking the p***’

Former Arsenal star Samir Nasri has slammed ex-France boss Didier Deschamps, accusing him of ‘taking the p***’ by leaving him out of the 2014 World Cup squad.

The attacking midfielder, 35, retired from international football as a result of his absenteeism, revealing that he had ‘blown a fuse’ at the time.

In an interview with ZackNani Prodtold Nasri how much he was hurt given his role for Man City that year as they won the title and the League Cup.

“He ruined my dream,” Nasri said. ‘Playing a World Cup in the football country was my thing. I had a crazy good season.

“I thought I was going to Brazil to destroy the World Cup. I believed it. We were crowned champions [with Manchester City] and I scored in the League Cup final.

“When you see the names of the players called up, a fuse blows. I thought he took the p*** with me.’

Nasri also announced that he and Deschamps are no longer in talks.

“I can only wish him well, but I don’t care. He’s not my friend and I won’t say hello to him because I don’t like him as a person,” he said.

It comes after Nasri admitted that Arsenal were ‘ourselves’ when they were outclassed by Manchester United in the 2009 Champions League semi-finals.

Arsène Wenger’s team defeated AC Milan and Villarreal in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively, before beating United in the last four.

Speaking about the semi-final, Nasri said: ‘It was the first time I saw the Emirates with such a crazy atmosphere, you had flags everywhere!

“When you go into a game with shivers down your spine, you feel you’re going to play a great game.

“And we shit ourselves. We destroyed ourselves and we came across a great Cristiano Ronaldo.’

United won a thrilling first leg 1–0 at Old Trafford, but Wenger’s side had home field advantage in the return.

But Ferguson’s men got off to a rampant start at the Emirates, as goals from Park Ji-sung and Cristiano Ronaldo put United ahead 2-0 in the first 11 minutes – and 3-0 on aggregate.

Ronaldo scored again to seal the tie before Robin van Persie scored a consolation as United progressed to the final, despite being reduced to 10 men as Darren Fletcher was sent off.
