Sam Thompson has revealed that Adam Collard’s return to Love Island last year was one of his favorite moments as he saw his girlfriend Zara McDermott in shock over her ex’s arrival.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 30, who has been in a relationship with former islander Zara McDermott, 26, for three years, has been a huge fan of the hit ITV2 series.
And just after announcing his new gig as the new co-host of the official Love Island podcast alongside Indiyah Polack, Sam has looked back on some of his highlights.

Speaking ahead of the winter series launch on January 16, Sam said he has two standout moments from past seasons.
“There are two: I love Davide, tremendously,” Sam said. ‘The ‘liar’ thing. It’s just iconic. It’s probably my most iconic islander. It was so brilliantly just him.
“The other one was definitely when Adam Collard showed up and my girlfriend Zara wasn’t looking at the screen…
‘Then she saw him appear and yelled, “Agh!” She came at the perfect time, in the perfect series.

‘I think the last series was my favourite. It was a great drama for all the right reasons.
When Adam Collard joined the show in July of last year, Sam took to his Stories to offer live thoughts on Sunday night viewing with 1.5 million followers.
When the teaser clip revealing the return of the personal trainer show surfaced, an emotional Sam was excited for a newcomer to the village before his face was revealed.
Shock! Zara McDermott admitted that her ex Adam Collard of hers is ‘intense’ while being questioned by her current boyfriend Sam Thompson, while being seen on Love Island last year.
As the camera panned to his muscular physique, Sam yelled, ‘Abs and pecs, abs and pecs… Wow, he’s fucked! Who is this guy… who is this absolute animal… is it your ex-boyfriend! No way!’
Sam then panned the camera towards a comically surprised Zara who screamed as she got up from the couch.
The stunner laughed and exclaimed, ‘No… what, woah!’ Zara and Adam met on Love Island in the summer of 2018 and moved to Essex together shortly after they were dropped from the ITV2 show.

But the relationship was not to last, as former government adviser Zara confirmed their separation after eight months together.
A giddy Sam continued to share his thoughts, saying “this is the best series ever,” and Zara added, “I guess I’ll have to retire from this comment now.”
Her boyfriend then continued his analysis as he pondered what Adam’s ‘play’ would be.
“I’m so intrigued by what’s about to happen,” he said. Sam continued: ‘The question is correct… He’s like a former student… the Lucas of this world… they’re going to suck… is that going to happen?’
He asked: ‘How are you going to play it? He’s done it before…brilliant from the producers.’
Confused: A giddy Sam continued to share his thoughts, saying “this is the best series ever,” while Zara added, “I guess I’ll have to back out of this comment now.”
‘Shiny!’ Zara blared in the background, voicing her approval of the dramatic decision.
Sam then joked, “We go see your ex-boyfriend every night… look at his greasy abs and pecs…”
He then appeared to suggest contacting the Love Island production team, adding: “I really think the producers have listened to my voice memo that I sent and said…let’s do it…we’re going to blow up Adam.” cabbage.
Sam ended her story with, “I can’t wait… They need to do this every season.”
Zara McDermott also admitted that her ex Adam Collard is ‘intense’ after getting his jaw on the floor when a new twist saw Adam join the series.

While watching with Zara in her London flat, Sam quipped: “Apparently this man knows how to talk to the ladies.” What is he like when you flirt with him? What is it like when you look into those eyes?
An embarrassed Zara replied, ‘I mean… what do you think? It’s intense.
“She’s showing her intensity here,” she added as Adam began pulling each of the girls on the show aside for a chat.
He doesn’t stop looking into your eyes. That’s a little thing he does, she continued, before Sam asked, ‘Is it?’
She also explained that what she is most excited about is getting to know the islanders themselves: ‘Love Island is the greatest show. I think as a show now the fourth wall has been broken.
“The viewer now knows a lot more about it and that has only made the show better. No other program has managed to do that.
Speaking about his latest role, Sam said: “When I did Aftersun last time as a guest, I kept talking to the audience.” They knew how much I love the show.
So they’d be yelling, “I bet this is your dream doing this, right?” I was like, “It is, it is!”
Twist: Zara, who appeared in the 2018 Love Island series with the Newcastle native, said: “He just won’t stop looking into your eyes” as Sam filmed her for his Instagram story.
