Sam Smith took a break from his touring schedule to see the sights of New South Wales this week.

The non-binary singer, 30, who uses they/them pronouns, took a group of friends to see the Scenic World cable car in Katoomba, Blue Mountains.

Wearing a protective helmet, blue jumpsuit and harness, the hitmaker beamed as they looked over his shoulder and posed with his friends Jeffrey C. Williams and PR Trentoz.

“We were beyond excited to welcome @samsmith and friends to Scenic World last week,” Scenic World Blue Mountains wrote on their Instagram.

“They experienced Beyond Skyway, about a month before the cable car is festooned with the flag of progress as part of our @sydneyworldpride celebration.”

It comes after the singer spoke about touring Australia for the first time since the death of legendary music executive Michael Gudinski, calling it a bittersweet experience.

The esteemed music promoter, who worked with Sam when they toured Australia in 2018, died of mixed drug use in March 2021.

Sam admitted that although Gudinski was gone, his powerful legacy was still evident in those he worked with.

“He was such an incredible force in this industry and in this world, who has left his mark on everyone around him and still brings his magic,” they said.

The Unholy hitmaker performed an exclusive one-night-only concert in South Australia on the Tuesday ahead of his national tour in October.

Sam has been visiting the sights Down Under for the past few weeks.

The British star was recently spotted at the Blackheath Butchery in the Blue Mountains.

Opting for Daisy Dukes and a yellow polo shirt, the musician happily posed for a photo with local butcher Bruce Tonning.

“Sam and I hugged,” Blackheath Butcher shared on his Facebook page.

Sam also called New Year’s Eve Down Under and was seen on Sydney’s famous Oxford Street, home to several LGBTQ nightclubs.
