Sam Newman’s podcast could be in big trouble as co-host Don Scott is insecure, following Newman’s harsh attack on him while the podcast was being recorded.

During a now-deleted segment of the podcast, the two former AFL players had an explosive argument while interviewing sports journalist Ken Piesse.

The fiery rant was uploaded into Wednesday’s episode and saw Newman fly into a rage at Scott for using the microphone incorrectly just eight minutes into the interview.

“Holy shit. Jesus Christ, if you touch that damn thing again. Stop it, I mean it, fuck you, God Almighty,” he said.

Scott replied, “Come on, continue the interview.”

Newman continued, “I can’t do it. If you could just do something right in your goddamn life. Don’t touch the microphone, speak into it and stop eating. F**k. Go out, go home.”

Newman then continued talking to Piesse, but announced that Scott was walking out of the studio by saying, “Fine, f**k off.”

After Scott’s sudden departure, Newman told Piesse, “I have a good idea for another book.”

“You should write a book about Don Scott and the people he knows and the people he pisses off. I think it would sell a million copies because that’s about the most annoying person I’ve ever met.

“He dismantled two microphones, broke two headphones, he ate dinner, he can’t pronounce a damn word properly and he’s gone. I’m sorry, but it has suddenly become bliss.’

Newman later described the aggressive exchange as ‘an argument between lovers’ Herald Sun reports.

“I lost it temporarily,” he said.

“He broke a microphone, broke headphones, started eating and didn’t speak into the microphone. It just manifested itself into the perfect storm.

‘I was just thinking about the listener. Don is resilient. Everything is fine, it was a lover’s quarrel.’

However, Scott appears to have taken Newman’s words more seriously.

When asked if he’ll return to the podcast for next week’s episode, he said, “We’ll see what happens.”
