Sam Neill auctioning off his ‘dinosaur-kicking’ Jurassic Park boots and more to benefit UNICEF UK

Sir Sam Neill dug into his personal prop archive to find the size 44 Timberland boots he wore as Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic Jurassic Park up for auction through Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on June 28.

The 75-year-old Irish-born Kiwi “ran for miles” in the ‘Lot #261’ bootsestimated to fetch between $6K and $12K with a starting bid of $3K.

These boots are made for kicking dinosaurs, in the words of the old song. And indeed they did, in the first Jurassic Park,” Sam (née Nigel) said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Most importantly, all proceeds will be used to support refugee children through the vital and incredible work of UNICEF UK.”

The Sam Neill Collection also includes the hat, jacket and shirt Neill wore when he played the paleontologist for the third time in Colin Trevorrow’s 2022 action film Jurassic World Dominion.

The Assassin Club star is hoping to receive between $10,000 and $20,000 for the brown felt fedora, with a dark brown leather hat band, which starts at $5,000.

Sam is also asking between $10,000 and $20,000 for the mid-sized brown cotton jacket, with a dark brown corduroy collar, labeled “Alan Grant Change 2 Hero.”

Neill’s classic chambray shirt, with Saturdays New York City label sewn in, has a $2,000 starting bid for a potential gross of $4,000 to $8,000.

The two-time Emmy nominee technically didn’t wear the red-patterned handkerchief for a scene in Utah, but wore it instead, and he’s hoping fans will bid between $2K and $4K for the memento.

The six-movie dino franchise has amassed an eye-watering $6.08 billion at the global box office, despite the dismal reviews aside from the Original from 1993 And Jurassic world in 2015.

“I owe so much to Spielberg and everyone involved, but I don’t think the Jurassic series made seismic shifts in my career,” Sam wrote in his new memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This?

‘I’m not Mr. Became an Action Hero or something… Between Jurassic Park and Jurassic World Dominion, I went back to making movies that interested me here and there, of varying quality.’

Propstore will begin in-room/online bidding for the Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles on June 28.
