Sam Neill and Naomi Watts shared their heartbreak over the tragic death of Treat Williams, who died in a motorcycle accident at age 71 on Monday.
The honorary Australian icons took to Instagram in the days following the Hair and Everwood star’s sudden passing to express their deepest regret.
New Zealand-born actor Sam, 75, said on Tuesday he was “out of words” after hearing the devastating news about the “kindest man” he had ever met.
He shared an old photo of the Golden Globe nominated actor and wrote, “Very sad to hear that Treat Williams passed away on the way. Treat was about the nicest guy imaginable. Truly tragic. No words.’
Meanwhile, Naomi, 54, poured her heart out in a lengthy post on Wednesday, explaining that she had just finished filming Treat for season two of the anthology series Feud.

“I am so heartbroken by the news of Treat. He was a true gentleman who always spoke so lovingly of his family,” she captioned a sweet photo of the couple.
“I had the great privilege of sharing many scenes with him during the recent shoot of Feud. His work is extraordinary.
“Not only did I discover what a remarkable professional he was, but I also made a friend and saw what a devoted husband and father he was.”

The British-born actress went on to say, “Treat was one of a kind” who was “truly enchanted by life.”
She recalled the “incredible stories” he would tell his castmates and the “immense gratitude” he had for the world around him.
The Academy Award winner ended by thanking Treat for the joy he brought to her life in the short time she’d known him and “for being the best scene partner.”
