- The couple recently announced that they were pregnant
- Have revealed that they are expecting from Mewis’ parents
- The heartwarming response included details about how long they had been trying
Australian Matildas star Samantha Kerr and her fiancé Kristie Mewis have shared the first baby bump photo as the couple begin their journey to becoming parents for the first time.
The couple set social media on fire last week when they announced the news that Mewis was carrying their first child, revealing a series of images including their scan result in a British photo booth.
Kerr and Mewis have been the sport’s glamor couple since they began their relationship at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where they were seen on the field together after a match between Australia and the United States.
They publicly confirmed their relationship in August 2021 via an Instagram post.
In November 2023, the couple announced their engagement and in December 2023, Mewis signed for West Ham United and moved to London to be closer to Kerr.
Mewis has now shared images of her baby bump with her parents in the city to congratulate the couple, with an Instagram post captioned: ‘Some things you guys have been missing’.

Mewis also revealed her pregnancy to her parents Robert and Melissa, who came to visit
In a video shared with the post, Mewis made the announcement to her parents Robert and Melissa.
She handed them both presents, which they opened to reveal baby clothes, as her mother gasped, “Are you pregnant?”.
“You’re kidding me,” she said in shock as she hugged Mewis.
“That was pretty quick.”
It was a touching moment that fans of the couple loved to see.
‘That reaction from your parents is everything. I wish the world had more people like her. Congratulations.’ one posted.
‘Such beautiful photos and the video is adorable. You’re glowing Kristie, congratulations to you and Sam, I’m so happy for you both,” another added.
“You have amazing parents, their reaction to the pregnancy is a beautiful and incredibly valuable thing, it’s respect, love, support, friendship, you have amazing parents,” said another.
The post was also liked and commented on by a host of Matildas and other football stars, including Mackenzie Arnold and Caitlin Foord.
Kerr is recovering from a cruciate ligament tear he suffered earlier this year and is on course to return to the pitch for both Chelsea and the Matildas in the new year.
