Sam Frost doesn’t look like this anymore! Home and Away star looks unrecognisable as she speaks about not saying ‘everything’ she thinks after leaving the soap amid vaccine video uproar

Sam Frost looked strikingly different when she appeared on TV, where she poignantly advised her younger self not to say ‘everything’ she thinks.

The 35-year-old actress left Home And Away at the end of 2021 after facing backlash over a controversial Instagram video about her hesitancy to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

She has since embarked on new TV ventures, appearing on The Morning Show on Wednesday to promote her new family series Jordie, Sam & Ted’s Adventures.

In the chat show, Sam, who is married to Jordie Hansen, looked almost unrecognizable as she ditched her signature blonde locks for a brunette look.

The former reality TV star cut a stylish figure in an off-white sweater as she showed off her shoulder-length chocolate locks, styled in loose curls around her face.

Sam was known for her longer blonde hairstyle during her role as Jasmine Delaney in Home And Away from 2017 to 2021.

Speaking to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, Sam also reflected on her decade-long TV career since finding fame on The Bachelor Australia in 2014.

She was asked if she had any advice for her younger self while discussing her reality TV days, to which she said she would tell her not to “say everything” she thinks.

Sam shared, “Yeah, you know, you don’t have to say everything you think. Sometimes. You know, I’ve got a bit more of a filter, mate.’

Sam left Home And Away in December 2021, two months after revealing she had not had the Covid-19 vaccine in a controversial video.

Sam was instantly recognizable with her longer blonde hairstyle during her time starring as Jasmine Delaney in Home And Away from 2017 to 2021.

She caused a backlash when she revealed she had not had the Covid jab and compared the restrictions on the unvaccinated to ‘segregation’.

She said in a tearful Instagram video, “I was really hesitant to make a video or even talk about this stuff, but I feel like it’s getting to a point now in the world where there’s a lot of segregation.”

‘There’s a lot of harsh judgments and opinions being spread and it’s definitely taking a toll on my mental health, and I know the people around me are having a hard time – especially if they’re on the side of not wanting to . get vaccinated, for whatever reason.

“There are lots of different reasons why people don’t get vaccinated and it could be because of their medical history, their concerns, it might be family history, it might be religious reasons.”

Seven Productions had a policy requiring all cast and crew to be vaccinated against Covid, but sources said at the time that Sam’s departure was not related to the mandate.

After receiving criticism for her video, Sam temporarily deactivated her main Instagram account and blocked comments on the account of her mental health charity Believe.

Sam – who has now been fully vaccinated – made the decision to leave Home And Away just months later and later reflected on the very difficult time.

In April, Sam told the Life Uncut podcast that she was struggling with her mental health and that a lot of “terrible” things were happening in her personal life at the time.

‘That was a terrible year. A lot of things happened in my family life, and a lot of things happened in my private life. It was a really dirty time. I don’t think anyone was okay during COVID,” Sam said.

She caused a backlash in October 2021 when she revealed she had not had the Covid jab and compared restrictions on the unvaccinated to ‘segregation’ in a tearful video.

‘When I made the video about that, if you actually watch the video, it was all about mental health and it was about me saying, “No one is okay right now” and no matter what you think about these vaccines, everyone has it difficult and you have to be compassionate and have empathy for people who might think differently about you.’

Sam said the situation became “messier and uglier” than she had intended as she reflected on the reaction to the video.

“I finally thought ‘oh man, I need to go home and be with my family’ and that’s when I made the decision to leave Home and Away,” she added.

Sam previously opened up about feeling like unvaccinated people were being ‘bullied’ and insisted she was never an ‘anti-vaxxer’, saying she only had ‘good intentions’.

“The bullying of unvaccinated people was disgusting. Friends I had had for years stopped talking to me,” Sam previously told Stellar Magazine.

‘I never said I didn’t want it. I’m not an anti-vaxxer. Are you joking? But I think it’s quite unreasonable to assume that everyone is going to think exactly the same and that people are going to come to exactly the same conclusion within the same time frame.’

‘I was torn to pieces. That was someone in a very vulnerable position talking about their struggles with mental health,” she added.
