Sam Burgess’ girlfriend shows hint of a baby bump as they’re spotted at the races

NRL star Sam Burgess and his pregnant girlfriend Lucy Graham are expecting their first child together.

And the happy couple were spotted looking totally in love for the first time since the happy news was announced at the glamorous Longines Queen Elizabeth Stake Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Despite only going public with their relationship six months ago, Sam and Lucy were thrilled to share with the world two weeks ago that they are expecting a baby soon.

Lucy was glowing from the star-studded event as she showed off a hint of a baby bump in a long black cropped dress.

The dress had a sheer bottom with two cutouts on her chest and torso and puffed sleeves.

Her long blonde locks were pinned back from her face with a black headband and she opted for a glamorous makeup look with a dark eye and nude pink lip.

She kept accessories to a minimum with silver earrings and a black YSL clutch bag.

The mom-to-be paired her dress with a pair of black strappy heeled sandals.

She looked ecstatic as she stood next to her NRL boyfriend Sam, 34, who looked dapper in a navy blue suit.

He paired the suit with a light blue shirt and blue patterned tie and black dress shoes.

Two weeks ago, the retired NRL great confirmed the happy news to Daily Mail Australia that he and his new girlfriend are expecting their first child together.

“We are so excited and happy to start this new chapter together…Have a great day,” he said in a statement.

Lucy, who is from the UK, recently made the decision to move Down Under permanently and it is believed her pregnancy was the reason.

Burgess is already a loving father to his two children Poppy, four, and son Billy, three, with his ex-wife Phoebe Hooke, and while he can’t see them as often as he’d like, he cares for them unconditionally.

Friends say they are “extremely excited.” Sam starts a new chapter with Lucy by his side.

‘He’s crazy about Lucy. It’s been a whirlwind, but she’s a wonderful woman. They get along so well. All his friends are so happy to see how happy he makes her,” said a close friend.

“The burghers are very family oriented and I think there was always a plan to start a family. From what I hear, she’s really good to him. When they’re together they seem to be laughing all the time – she’s killing it.”

Born in West Yorkshire, England, Burgess has known Lucy for about 20 years.

Her identity was revealed last October after he took her as his date to the premiere of Russell Crowe’s film Poker Face in Rome.

Lucy is the co-founder of sustainable fashion label Sentenced, which launched in September 2019.

Sam found love with Lucy after a series of flings that followed his acrimonious breakup with Phoebe in January 2019.
