Sam Aston’s wife Briony reveals that she’s suffered another heartbreaking miscarriage

Coronation Street star Sam Aston’s wife has revealed she has had two miscarriages within just four months of each other.

Devastated mother-of-two Briony, 27, took to Instagram on Saturday to confirm the heartbreaking news, admitting it was very ‘difficult’ to share.

In her lengthy post, she shared a photo of her original pregnancy test and talked about how “heartbreaking and unfair” the devastating news was.

She wrote: “This is hard to share, but to break the taboo I miscarry again, the second time in four months…”.

It’s heartbreaking and unfair BUT I’m not seeking sympathy, I feel well supported and want others to feel supported too.

The mother shared how she told close friends and family about both of her pregnancies and said she decided to share her miscarriage news online after hearing from other women about the loss they were struggling with.

“And that’s why I wanted to post this today, because it makes a world of difference to have people you can talk to and receive comfort from those who have gone through something similar,” she continued.

“We had told close friends and family about both pregnancies because I knew I would want support from those people for me if it wasn’t meant to be long.

“But I wouldn’t have been so open if I hadn’t heard from other women about the babies they lost and their stories.”

Towards the end of the post, Briony thanked all the women for her who shared their miscarriage stories.

“So thank you to all the women before me who have shared their stories and talked about their babies, it makes processing this a lot easier and I don’t feel alone at all,” she added.

“In fact, I feel the opposite of alone, I feel carried and heard and I hope that by continuing these difficult conversations about miscarriage and pregnancy loss, we open the door for others who will sadly also experience loss #1in4.”

The heartbreaking news comes a year after 30-year-old Sam and his wife Briony confirmed they had welcomed their second child together.

The couple – who were already parents to their son Sonny, two – confirmed that Briony had given birth to a baby girl in May 2022.

In conversation with OK! Magazine, they said, ‘Our beautiful girl has arrived.’

Daisy was born on 10 May 2022, nine days late, after a three-hour labor at their home in Lancashire.

They later confirmed that their daughter was named Daisy Josephine and shared the sweet meaning behind her name.

She told OK!: “Josephine is a nod to Sam’s brother Jo and my grandpa Joe. Daisy is also the French name for Marguerite and my mother’s mother’s name is Margaret, so it was a way to have both grandparents.’

In December 2021, the couple revealed their “nice surprise” that they were expecting a younger sister for Sonny.

Sam told OK! magazine at the time: “I saw we were going to have another boy, so it was a really nice surprise. I was quite shocked.

He explained, “There are twins in Briony’s family, so when we went in I was a little nervous and said, ‘There’s definitely only one in there, right?’ He said, “There’s only one!” and then told us it was a girl!’

At the time, the couple had no plans to have another child so soon, but claimed they were happy to have children around the same age.

They took to Instagram at the time and shared a photo of Sonny holding a chalkboard that read, “We’re adding another pumpkin to our patch!” Spring 2022.”

Briony previously said the couple were ‘not’ trying to conceive because Sonny was born prematurely and she was concerned there could be a risk of another premature birth so soon after she had him.
