Australian TV presenter Sam Armytage has claimed Australia has become ‘very woke’ and has revealed why she left Channel 7’s Sunrise show.
In an extensive conversation with 2GB’s Ben Fordham, Armytage was asked whether Australia has become too woke as a society.
“We’ve woken up a lot, haven’t we?” replied Armytage.
“This is the way society is going and we all have to adapt a little bit.”
Fordham then claimed that he sees young people pushing back against wokeness, to which Armytage responded, “Are they? Good.’
“There are younger people who will miss the fun or the freedom to express themselves, say what they want to say or make an inappropriate joke,” Fordham explained.
‘And the younger people I meet really resist that, because they say, ‘Wait a minute, you could have done it, why can’t we?’
Earlier in the podcast, Armytage revealed she won “a lot of money” betting on Donald Trump to win the 2016 election.
Speaking to 2GB’s Ben Fordham, Samantha Armytage (pictured) said Australia has become ‘very woke’
“I had an inkling he would win because my parents were country people, and I could hear what was happening out there with the silent majority and the silent people who go underground at times like this,” she said.
‘I thought things would change here. This is going to be a bit of an uprising. And this is what you have in a society when, when you tend towards the awakening, a lot of people go quiet, and I could just see it coming.
“That doesn’t mean I support him or that I approve of him, but I did win money on him last time, and it will be very interesting to see what happens next week.”
Armytage also revealed why she quit Sunrise.
“Look, I’ve just had enough,” she said.
“I’ve been doing it a long time, you know what those hours are like, it’s pretty grueling.”
She added that she “got a lot of attention” from Sunrise, which became “quite packed.”

After 21 years at Seven, Samantha Armytage moved to Nine and will host The Golden Bachelor
“I just needed a break,” she said.
‘The time was right and life had changed. I just got married, my mother had passed away, everything had changed and I knew the time was right.
“I’d had enough, and you know, I love a good horse metaphor: I rode him to the top, I did everything I could do and it was a good time to get out.”
After 21 years at Seven, Armytage moved to Nine and, after much speculation, was confirmed as host of reality dating show The Golden Bachelor.
The participants in The Golden Bachelor are in their fifties and sixties.
Armytage told Fordham they are looking for a “regular guy” and between 10 and 12 women for the show.
“I think this show has a lot of potential,” Armytage said.
“It’s going to be really fun, it’s going to be hilarious, but I also think we have room for some really moving stories here because we’re looking for people in their 50s and 60s, maybe even in their 70s, who have done. to have loved before and to want to love again.’
