Saltburn star appears shocked on Ant & Dec's Limitless Win and teases stunned contestant with Fifty Shades Of Gray-inspired poem

A Saltburn star made a very shocking appearance in the returning episode of Ant & Dec's Limitless Win, which airs on Saturday.

Acting legend Richard E. Grant, who plays Sir James Catton in the Amazon Prime film, went from the A-list to the ITV list for the new show.

In a first look clip, Richard, 66, surprises contestants Tina and Tracy with a recitation of a special poem entitled '50 Shades of Trace'.

Tina and Tracy take on the Limitless Ladder in an emotional game that brings tears to Ant and Dec's eyes as they try to climb high enough to pay for a new house for Tina and a cruise for Tracy.

Richard made headlines after starring in Saltburn alongside Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Rosamund Pike, while being directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Emerald Fennell.

Saltburn follows a seemingly working-class Oxford University student from Merseyside, played by Barry, 31, who falls in love with upper-class student Felix, played by Jacob, 26.

It ends with a disturbing twist, as the seemingly innocent Oliver turns out to be a vengeful mastermind who has murdered not only Felix and his family over the course of a few years in an attempt to acquire their fortune – and the manor of Saltburn.

Richard's success on the show comes after he revealed he 'can't imagine falling in love again' following the death of his beloved wife Joan Washington.

Joan passed away in 2021 at the age of 74, just eight months after she was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

Late last year, Richard said he writes to his late wife of 35 years every day because the thought of her being gone is too much to bear.

The actor, who is the new voice of The Wombles, added while he's been trying to date, “no one else has even come close” to Joan.

Speaking about his grief, Richard told The Telegraph: 'I have now accepted that I will never understand. Trying to imagine that I'm not here is beyond my ability to think.

“So I write a letter to Joan every night about what's going on, and I find that it feels like I'm having a physical, tangible, ongoing conversation with her that's written down, I've found that to be really helpful. .. .

“Anticipating what she would think about this, or what is her opinion on that? Even the most mundane things.”

Richard said he has been set up on blind dates by his friends in the two years since Joan's death, but he doesn't want to meet anyone.

“I think what was so special about her is that I felt like I was really seen and understood by another human being in a way that no one else has even come close to,” he said.

Ant & Dec's Limitless Win starts Saturday January 6 at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
