Body language expert Judi James told DailyMail.com afterwards that she believed the awkward altercation came down to an ‘etiquette issue’.

She added that Salma trying to get Nicole to look at the cameras may have come across as “directive” or “a little superior.”
“Nicole appears to push the hand away, suggesting that the simulated touch violates some kind of silent etiquette, as in a possible ‘I choose when I go or where I move to,'” she analyzed.
She turns and kisses Katy, leaving Salma stunned. There seem to be some clues that could look like a small flashpoint before Nicole walks in the other direction.
“Anyone who has seen The Devil Wears Prada should know that perhaps the body language of high fashion events should not be judged on normally earthly levels.”
