Salisbury, Adelaide: Two teens charged after allegedly stealing cheesecakes

Two teenagers were reportedly caught on CCTV stealing cheesecakes during an early morning burglary at a dessert shop.

The two 15-year-old boys are said to have broken into The Cheesecake Shop in Salisbury, in Adelaide’s north, shortly after 3am on Friday.

Surveillance footage from the bakery reportedly showed two figures climbing through a smashed window, one wearing a hood and the other with a mask over his face.

The pair are said to have gone from fridge to fridge taking out several boxes of cheesecakes before quickly leaving the store.

The store owner called police after reviewing security footage.

Police officers later attended the scene where they found the front shop window smashed but no one inside.

Their police dog Chaos then led officers to the nearby stock exchange in Salisbury, where two teenagers were arrested.

Police allege backpacks containing cheesecakes stolen from the John Street business were found in bushes nearby.

The teenage boys, from the Adelaide suburbs of Salisbury North and Eyre, were arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass.

They were both granted bail and will appear in juvenile court on August 2.
