Sales at cosmetics company Warpaint London soared as it made money at Christmas.

The Buckinghamshire mascara maker, which operates the Technic and W7 brands, said annual sales are expected to be £64m, up from £50m in 2021 when results are released in April.

It expects a profit of £10 million, up from £6.9 million in 2021.

Chief executive Sam Bazini said it had a strong last quarter, with steady online growth and expansion in the US.

It was founded by Bazini and Eoin Macleod, the general manager, who started selling make-up in London.

Warpaint floated on AIM in 2016 and grossed £23 million. The stock is up more than 50 percent in the past six months as it eases spending pressure by selling products at stores like Wilko and Superdrug.

The fortune is in stark contrast to rival Revolution Beauty, whose shares were suspended in September over accounting concerns.
