‘But seriously, you know when you see a bikini hanging up and you still think you’re a size 10 and you try it on and you realise you’re not 24 anymore but 54 and you think… F**k it, I’m going to rock it… that’s where I am in these photos on this holiday.’

Saira continues: ‘I love women with figures, curves, scars, wrinkles and scars because it’s real. It shows a life lived and it shows authenticity in a world that is sometimes so fake.

‘The pressure today is: “dare to be your authentic self” in a world of filtered beauty.

‘Make your own rules. Live by them and never regret not doing what you want to do.

‘Show it or cover it… your choice, your body… just be free and happy in it. #femaleempowerment’.

Saira also insisted in June giving women the freedom to wear what they want and ‘fuck society’, as she shared an album of stunning bikini snaps.

Saira wrote: ‘In 5 years, when I look back at these pictures, I will be 59 years old (sic). I will remind myself that in these pictures I was happy, relaxed, recovering from a hernia and completely at ease with my body.

‘I’m not going to look back and think ‘why wasn’t I happy with myself and my body? There’s nothing f*****g wrong with the way I look.’ I’ve done that so many times in my life – looked at my old photos and thought ‘why weren’t you confident in your body… you look f*****g amazing.’

‘I’m done with this self-destructive and self-limiting b******t! F*****g society and its ‘abnormal standards for women!’ But it’s time to stop blaming society and take responsibility for your own mental health and self-care.

‘God, when you realize how many years and times you’ve spent feeling insecure about your body, trying to conform to what society deems beautiful, you could kick yourself!

‘Never, never, never will I hate my body, never, never will I try to get a flat stomach and never, never will I be ungrateful for everything my body has helped me overcome.

‘This is a female empowerment post. Not a photo dump for men to tell me “how fit” I look – I don’t need male validation – especially from men I don’t know – so spare me the “nasty, creepy, weird” posts!

She continued, “Ladies, I’m posing in a bikini to show you that at 54, I still have scars, wrinkles, and imperfect skin. I’m not tall, skinny, or bikini-fit. My body is saggy, and that’s okay!

‘Wear what you want – but don’t wear. Shame, hate or self-loathing – it doesn’t suit you at all!’
