Sadist, 34, denies raping male and female human ‘house pets’ whom he ‘forced to wear dog collars, spanked and carved their initials’ during ‘puppy play’ BDSM session

  • Scott Lannister denies six counts of rape, assault and abuse against a woman and a man
  • She got involved in BDSM: bondage, domination, submission and sadomasochism.

A sadist accused of forcing a man and a woman he described as ‘household pets’ whom he forced to wear dog collars, whipped and beat them, told a jury today that he ‘enjoyed the process of dominating someone’ but denies have violated it

Scott Lannister, 34, is charged with sexual assault, including anal rape, against a woman and a man.

Among other allegations, he is said to have suspended the young woman by a rope around her neck from the roof of her Stirling apartment until she passed out, and carved initials into the young man’s back.

Lannister, described as “long-term medical unemployed”, said he practiced “puppy play” and BDSM, defined by the jury at Stirling High Court as bondage, discipline, domination and submission, and sadomasochism.

He described himself as “one of the greatest teachers in the country.”

He said “puppy play” was “a more unusual and niche lifestyle item” and “part of the edge in LGBTQ+.”

He told his lawyer, Bert Kerrigan KC, that ‘first and foremost you have the canine side. Many people involved in puppy play describe it as quite a liberating and enjoyable experience’ which involved ‘playing ball, walking in the park, giving paws, playing with the kind of toys you would play with as a dog’ and also it had a sexual element to it.

He said: ‘They like to serve and please the person who is managing them at the time.

“I love my pets very much, but I try not to fall in love with them.”

He said members of his ‘pack’ became ‘collared or owned when they formed a master/pet relationship’ with him and if they lived with him they would have to ‘open doors and do other similar tasks in a manner commensurate with their position’.

When asked about dog tags found at his home by police, he said: “A tag is similar to a wedding ring or an engagement ring in a relationship of normal description.”

He described the alleged instances of hitting and spanking his ‘pets’ as ‘consensual shock play’ and said that in the rope incident, the woman had placed the rope around her neck before getting off a low stool in the that was stopped

He denied kicking the stool after she had second thoughts about going through with the so-called ‘breathing game’.

He said: ‘She was nervous. He was encouraging her to withdraw, but she chose what to do with her body and decided to withdraw.”

Lannister denies raping, assaulting and abusing the woman, now 21, and the man, now 28, during 2019 and 2020.

He told Kerrigan: “I enjoyed the process of consensually dominating someone. Just as a masochist enjoys receiving pain for pleasure, a sadist enjoys giving pain for pleasure.

Referring to a beating of the woman, he said: “When I asked her if she liked ‘the stingy’ and she said ‘maybe’, to me, the inflection in her voice, there was pleasure there.”

The trial, before Lord Scott, continues.
