Idris’s appearance comes after he shared the official release date for his latest film, Luther: The Fallen Sun.
The actor, who will be playing the lead role, can be seen appearing from a dark shadow in the first dramatic trailer for the film.

The streaming service took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm that the long-awaited new image will be called Luther: The Fallen Sun.
He also revealed that the film, which will follow up on the dramatic 2019 series finale, will be released in March next year.
Netflix also shared new images of Idris, again as DCI John Luther, who was last seen being sent to prison in the BBC’s dramatic series finale.
In the new snaps, Idris is seen once again donning his trademark tweed jacket ensemble as he explores a variety of mysterious locations.
He cut a dashing figure in dark suit pants, a blue shirt and a red tie, which he paired with his famous long coat as he played Luther once again.
And Luther’s film will be as packed with drama as ever, as one photo shows a concerned Idris raising his hands on a busy city set.
Exciting: Idris’s appearance comes after he shared the official release date for his latest movie, Luther: The Fallen Sun.
His character Luther is also seen exploring more challenging climates and breaking from his traditional London setting as he is seen making his way through a snowy mountainous landscape.
Another shot shows Idris standing on what appeared to be subway train tracks, while a final snapshot saw him walking dramatically through red lights.
Luther: The Fallen Sun will hit select theaters on February 24, followed by a Netflix release on March 10.
