Sabrina Carpenter sends love to former Girl Meets World co-star Danielle Fishel amid actress’ cancer battle

Sabrina Carpenter sent her love to her former co-star, Danielle Fishel, as the actress battles cancer.

The 25-year-old singer showed her gratitude to her Girl Meets World co-star after Fishel congratulated her on the release of her new album, Short n’ Sweet, on Saturday.

The 43-year-old actress shared a photo of herself holding a vinyl copy of Carpenter’s album and sitting in a Target shopping cart on Instagram after revealing she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Fishel joined the tradition she and the Espresso hitmaker have had for years with their album releases, writing in her caption: “This never gets old.”

“Short n’ Sweet out now! I’ll get in a Target cart for you even when I’m 100 years old,” she continued. “Congrats on sharing this masterpiece with the world!”

The actresses and good friends previously met when Carpenter was cast as Maya Hart, the best friend of Riley, the daughter of Cory and Topanga Matthews, on the Boy Meets World spinoff.

Since they met, Fishel has been consistently supportive of Carpenter, sharing photos of herself in a shopping cart with Singular Act I in 2018, Singular Act II in 2019, and Emails I Can’t Send in 2022.

In May, she also traveled to New York City to watch and support Carpenter’s Saturday Night Live debut.

She shared a series of photos, including one of the former co-stars embracing.

β€œI honestly had the time of my life watching my friend check off a huge box on her bucket list,” Fishel wrote in her caption.

“I met some absolute legends and cried tears of joy.” Carpenter captioned her post: “I love you!!!!!”

The latest show of support between the former co-stars came after Fishel revealed on Monday’s episode of the Pod Meets World podcast that she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

β€œI was recently diagnosed with DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, a form of breast cancer,” Fishel explains.

“It’s very, very, very early. Technically it’s stage zero,” she added.

β€œTo be exact, because I always want too much information, I was diagnosed with DCIS with high-grade microinvasion.”

She continued, β€œI’m going to be fine.”

Fishel then explained that she will be undergoing surgery and treatments soon.

The next day, Fishel expressed her gratitude for the support she had received following her health update.

“I wanted to make a short video to thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of my entire family for the tremendous outpouring of love, support and encouragement you have sent me since I announced my breast cancer diagnosis,” she said, addressing her 1.2 million followers.
