Sabrina Carpenter hints at VERY awkward Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello love triangle in spicy new album tracks

Sabrina Carpenter released her highly anticipated album Short n’ Sweet on Friday, in which she hinted at a love triangle with her ex-girlfriend Shawn Mendes and his ex Camila Cabello.

The 25-year-old Espresso star, who kissed Jenna Ortega in the bloody music video for her song Taste, was embroiled in brief romance speculation with the 26-year-old Stitches singer earlier last year.

And on several songs from her sixth studio album, the beauty appeared to possibly sing lyrics aimed at Mendes and Cabello — though she didn’t name any names.

In the song Taste, the LP’s first track, Carpenter appears to mention the Canadian artist, who is often spotted shirtless during performances.

“You wonder why half his clothes are gone/My body is where they are,” Sabrina was heard singing.

Elsewhere in the song, the star also sings lyrics about the on-again, off-again relationship between her and her lover.

Shawn and Camila first started dating in 2019, but split two years later in 2021. They briefly reunited in 2023.

‘I heard you guys got back together and if that’s true/Then you’ll just have to taste me when he kisses you/If you want forever, I bet you do/Just know that you’ll taste me too.’

In February 2023, Carpenter and Mendes first sparked relationship rumors when they were spotted together taking a stroll in LA

The following month, the two were seen together again as they celebrated Miley Cyrus’ album.

But in April 2023, the Mercy singer was spotted kissing Camila at the Coachella Music Festival in California.

In Sabrina’s song Coincidence, she alluded to Mendes and Cabello’s loving reunion at the festival.

“What a surprise, your phone just died/Your car drove from LA to her thighs/ Palm Springs looks nice, but who’s by your side?/Damn, she kinda looks like the girl you outgrew,” she sang.

And in a number of songs from her sixth studio album, the beauty appeared to possibly sing lyrics directed at Mendes and Cabello — though she didn’t name any names; seen in NYC in 2021

In the song Taste, the first track on the LP, Carpenter appears to mention the Canadian artist, who is often spotted shirtless during outings

In the same song, Carpenter sings a lyric about a love triangle, which may also be a reference to Shawn and Camila.

At the beginning she sang, ‘The moment I laid my head on your chest/She knew, she’s got a real sixth sense.’

‘Now her name comes up once, then twice/And without her even being there, she’s back in your life/Now she’s in the same damn city on the same damn night.’

In another song from the album, Dumb & Poetic, Sabrina sings about an ex who loves meditation but is also manipulative.

“Pick the raisins out of the cake like they’re words you’ve made up/A gold star for intellectual manipulation/And ‘love everybody’ is your favorite quote,” the lyrics read.

The singer also sang, “Try to come off like you’re soft and well-spoken/Jack off to a lyric by Leonard Cohen.”

Both Mendes and Cohen are from Canada and Shawn also performed Leonard’s song Hallelujah during some of his previous performances.

Shawn has also been open about his journey with meditation, sharing Fashion in 2021, ‘I’ve definitely sat and done a meditation on YouTube a few times…’

At the beginning of Coincidence she sang: ‘The second I laid my head on your chest/She knew, she’s got a real sixth sense’

“But it wasn’t until about two and a half years ago, when I was going through a really difficult time and had a lot of anxiety, that I started using it regularly.”

“It took me from a place of fear and anxiety to a place where I realized that you don’t get anywhere if you don’t start with compassion for yourself.”

In the same song, she later sings about an ex who uses mushrooms: “Save all your breath for your meditation/You’re so empathetic, you’d be an amazing woman/And I promise the mushrooms won’t change your life.”

Mendes admitted that he experimented with taking magic mushrooms during a recent concert in London, according to The sun.

“I know who I am, but I also have no idea,” he explained to the outlet.

“I’m still figuring that out. I’ve been through a lot and researched things. I don’t know if anyone here has ever tried mushrooms, but it’s a crazy thing.”

In the song Sharpest Tool, the fourth track on the album, Carpenter sings about an ex possibly going back to a former lover.

‘We never talk about how you/found God in your ex’s house, always/making sure the phone was face down/It seems like overnight, now I’m the b***h you hate.’

While she may have her sights set on Mendes, Sabrina could also be hinting at another past romance with Disney Channel alum Joshua Bassett. The pair sparked romance rumors in 2020, but seemingly split the following year.

Earlier this month during an interview on the Zach Sang Showthe actor spoke candidly about his journey of faith.
