Sabrina Carpenter has responded to the rumor that she asked her best friend Taylor Swift’s permission to shoot a commercial for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS.
The 25-year-old chart-topper talked about her friendship with the 34-year-old megastar in her Variety editorial.
In April, the Espresso hitmaker took social media by storm with a sexy campaign for shapewear brand SKIMS, prompting many to question whether she should have asked Taylor’s permission to collaborate with arch nemesis Kim Kardashian.
She responded to these claims saying, “Well, Taylor is a rock star!
“She’s just such a gangster with all the trimmings. No matter what people say, everything I’ve ever seen her handle, she’s done it with grace. The reports about me having to ‘ask her permission’ — no. She’s one of my best friends, and we’ll go out to dinner together or text and catch up like you would with your best friend.”

Taylor and Kim, 43, have been feuding since 2016. Rising star Sabrina is a close friend of Taylor’s and will be supporting her on several dates of her Eras tour.
After receiving negative feedback for her collaboration with The Kardashians star, she spoke to Rolling stoneSabrina previously spoke about the controversial decision in June.
The Pennsylvania blonde insisted the collaboration didn’t cause any rifts between her and Taylor.
She told the publication: ‘Although people like to believe that you’re attuned to every little thing, that’s not the case for me because I’m constantly working.
“In that scenario, I communicated with her very, very openly about the situation. I just love her very much and support her until the end.
‘So it wasn’t strange to me, but I know people just say that because they simply don’t have time for it.’
Taylor and Kim’s feud began in 2016, when Kim made public a recorded phone call in which she alleged that Taylor had given permission to her then-husband Kanye West to write vulgar lyrics about her.
Since then, both stars have spoken out about the feud on several occasions, with Taylor most notably doing so on her 2017 album Reputation.

The latest development came when the pop star released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poet’s Department.
There was a song on it called Thank You Aimee, stylized as “thanK you aIMee” with Kim spelled in all caps. Fans thought this was Kardashian because of their previous feud.
Meanwhile, Sabrina has been in a relationship with the handsome Irish actor Barry Keoghan for almost a year.
The two keep their relationship relatively private, despite him playing her lover in her latest music video for Please Please Please.
She made a rare comment about the 31-year-old Saltburn actor, telling Variety: “He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics and I’m so grateful for that.
“I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation. So seeing him on screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and more special.”

Later in the interview with Thania Garcia, Sabrina discusses their celestial compatibility after being given an astrology book.
She said, “Barry is a Libra, and so is my sister. They are very different, but they have similarities. I also tend to lean toward Leo.
“My father is a Capricorn, so maybe that’s not the direction I want to go in the future.”
Her second studio album, Short n’ Sweet, will be released on Friday, August 23.
