‘I just want to sit inside in my pajamas for a while’: Rylan Clark reveals real reason he quit Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two amid rumors he hosts Big Brother

Rylan Clark has revealed the real reason why he’s quitting the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two – amid rumors he’ll be hosting the Big Brother reboot.

The presenter, 34, insisted he’s ‘not going anywhere’ but wanted to take a moment to ‘sit inside my pajamas’.

On his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday, he told his listeners: ‘So I just want to say publicly to the whole Strictly family: I’ve loved you dearly for the past four years.

‘Can I also please confirm, I see all the rumours. Please continue your rumours, I’m not going anywhere baby.

“It was just my time to say thank you and you know, go, and I don’t know, sit inside my pajamas for a while.”

Rylan had shared a statement on Instagram on Wednesday announcing his departure from the show, which he co-hosted with Janette Manrara.

Speaking up: Rylan Clark has revealed the real reason he quit Strictly Come Dancing’s spin-off show It Takes Two, which he co-hosted with Janette Manrara

He wrote: ‘After four fantastic years, it’s time to hang up my glitter jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two.

“I’ve had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.”

“I have been welcomed into the Strictly family and will hold that title dear to my heart. The time has come for me to pass the baton to someone else and explore what else life has to offer me.

“Thank you Strictly, you’ll always have my heart… and my dancing feet.”

A host of Rylan’s celebrity friends took to the comments section to share their support for his decision, but said he will be dearly missed.

Strictly host Tess Daly wrote, ‘It won’t be the same without you!!’, while Ruth Langsford also said, ‘Won’t be the same without you’.

Angela Scanlon posted a lot of love heart emojis. Strictly contestant Tyler West wrote, “Love you Ry.”

And many fans took to the comment section to ponder whether Rylan would step down in favor of the Big Brother hosting gig – but he quickly stopped speculating.

One TV fan account wrote, “Not that I’m jumping to conclusions or anything, but I’m JUMPING…IT Takes Two would always clash with Big Brother?”

Rylan replied, “You’re jumping unfortunately” (sic).

On his Radio 2 show, Rylan said: 'It was just my time to say thank you and you know, go, and I don't know, get inside my pajamas for a minute'

There is already speculation as to who could fill Rylan’s shoes as the next co-host.

AJ – who reached the final on Strictly’s 2021 series – is the clear favorite to take over at 4/1, with main show hosts Claudia Winkleman and Zoe Ball following next at 8/1.

Former dancer Anton Du Beke, judge Bruno Tonioli and host Emma Willis are all 10/1 to replace Rylan, according to Bets.nl.

Wild card shouts include Alison Hammond at 20/1 and Shirley Ballas at 33/1.
