Rylan Clark reveals I’m A Celeb star Tulisa has ‘been through a hell of a lot’ as he reveals why he defended her against ‘disgusting’ trolls
Rylan Clark has broken his silence after defending I’m A Celebrity’s Tulisa as he revealed the real reason he spoke out against ‘disgusting’ trolls.
The ITV presenter, 36, took to X on Monday to support his friend after the N-Dubz star, 36, was mocked for her changing appearance.
Speaking to MailOnline Rylan, who has teamed up with Amazon in time for Black Friday, revealed Tulisa has ‘been there for him since X Factor’ and will ‘always defend her’.
He said some of Tulisa’s procedures were done for medical reasons and that the procedures targeting her online are “disgusting.”
He told MailOnline: ‘She is a very good friend of mine and she has been there for me very much since X Factor and vice versa.
“And she’s been through a lot in recent years, medically, which I know is well documented.”

He continued, “She talked about it on Olivia Atwood’s podcast, which I was glad she talked about. So to hear people say ”why did she do this to her face, why did she do that”.
“I just want to say, ‘First of all, what does it have to do with you, and secondly, some of the things she’s done to her face are for medical reasons, so ultimately you have nothing to do with that.’ day”.
‘I will always defend my friends and I don’t care what people say about me. I get more irritated when people say things about people I love. Everyone always has an opinion and that’s fine.
‘People can say whatever they want, but don’t choose someone because of a medical problem. I find that disgusting.’
Rylan then said that he’s okay with people having an opinion about changes they make for cosmetic reasons.
He revealed he was ‘fine’ with having to deal with the burden of social media after getting his teeth done.
But he said people should “let it go” if it’s for medical reasons, as she recently opened up about a health battle that left her in “horrendous” pain and fear for her face.
The singer was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy in 2020 – a neurological condition that causes paralysis or weakness on one side of the face when the facial nerve is damaged or no longer functions properly.

Yet she soon became involved in a vicious cycle of having fillers to even out her appearance and causing her face to become inflamed and swollen.
Speaking on Olivia Attwood’s So Wrong It’s Right podcast this month, Tulisa admitted that problems were particularly acute around the time she reformed with the trio in 2022, ending their eleven-year hiatus from the music scene with a new tour and single release.
A doctor soon discovered the cause after performing an ultrasound of her face, where he found “three chronically infected cysts” in her cheek, one of which burst during an “exploratory operation” because it was so bulging.
Tulisa said: ‘I have no idea what caused them, they weren’t filler, they just happened naturally, but I came out of surgery and straight away my face was less swollen.
She added that after she had her first attack of Bell’s palsy at age 24, she tried to use fillers to “balance” her face, which left her in a “vicious cycle.”
Two years passed and the condition was controlled, but she began to feel a ‘mild swelling’ in the same cheek, which rapidly increased.
