Rya’s questline and steps into Elden Ring

Ria is an NPC in Elden Ring who you meet once you reach the Liurnia of the Lakes area, and whose story you take with you Volcano country house in Mount Gelmir.

Where do you start the Rya questline in Elden Ring?

You will find Ria for the first time in a pavilion not far from Liurnia of the Lakes. She is located northwest of the Laskyar Ruins Site of Grace and due east of the Scenic Isle site of Grace (where you’ll find Patches after meeting him in Murkwater Cave).

How to complete the Rya quest line in Elden Ring

Talk to her and hear her request. She will ask you to retrieve a necklace for her from a thug in a nearby hut.

Reach Boilprawn Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes

Your first step in Rya’s story is close: the Cooking shrimp hut slightly to the northwest. Go there, press the Place of graceand then speak to Black Guard Grand Boggart.

When you ask him “Give me the chain,” he will offer to sell it to you for 1,000 runes. To buy Rya’s necklace from him (despite the insults). While you’re here, talk to Boggart again and buy one boiled shrimp from him – that will make him friendly to you and you can summon him in a later battle.

Return the necklace to Rya in her pavilion. Finally, she will introduce herself and invite you to the unsurprisingly named Volcano Manor Volcano Manor Invitation.

How to get to Volcano Manor with Rya

Rya’s next location depends on how you reach the Altus Plateau:

• Once you have found both halves of the Dectus medallion – one of Fort Haight in the south-east of Limgrave and the other in Dragonbarrow at Fort Farroth — Rya is waiting for you at the top of the Large lift from Dectus.
• If you go through the Abyss strewn with ruins to reach the plateau, find her at Lux Ruins right next to the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace.

If you meet her in any of these places, she can teleport you straight to Volcano Manor.

However, if you travel directly to the Royal Capital via the Deep root depths As part of Fia’s quest line, she will not appear in either place. However, you still have options. You can go through Altus Plateau or the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

How to reach Volcano Manor from the Altus Plateau

Even on foot, there are still two ways to reach Volcano Manor.

From the Altus Plateau and the Grace’s Altus Highway Junction sitego northeast and the Woodland spanning Greatbridge Site of Grace. There you will find a portal that takes you north. Go southwest, through the Witherblood Ruins and over to the Bridge of Iniquity Place of grace. From there, continue west and look towards the cliffs on your left, where a tall ladder leads up to the cliffs Grace’s first Mount Gelmir campfire site.

Generally, keep heading west to cross some stone bridges and climb some more ladders. Eventually you’ll end up fighting an adult Fallingstar beast (you can just run away). From that crater you can jump west and make your way to the front door of the Volcano Manor.

How to reach Volcano Manor from the Academy of Raya Lucaria

Alternatively, when you met Patches in Liurnia, he told you about a kidnapper maiden in Raya Lucaria who can teleport you to “the base of the Erdtree” – he lied, of course. It actually takes you to Volcano Manor. Kind of.

Go to the Schoolhouse Classroom Site of Grace and take the elevator outside, all the way down. Let Abductor Virgin grab (and kill) you there, and you’ll wake up in the basement of Volcano Manor. After much exploration of a lava-filled area and a battle against some powerful Abductor maidens, you will find an exit that takes you to the Seethewater site of grace in Mount Gelmir.

From there you have to make a counterclockwise loop around the huge lava lake, passing by Fort Laidd and the Hermitageand then through the Craftsman’s hut And Hermit village. After you’ve dealt with (or passed sprint) Half-human Queen MaggieYou can cross the narrow stone pillar to get there The grave of Gelmir Held. Keep going north and you’ll come across the other overland route just before the section with all the ladders.

Join Volcano Manor and kill the ancient knight Istvan

Once you’re inside, talk to Tanith around the Key to the salon. Go down the hallway to the west and take the last door on the left.

You will find Ria inside along with a Letter from Volcano Manor. Open your inventory, go to Info and read it to mark Old Knight Istvan’s location on your map.

Go to the Warmaster’s cabin in Limgrave. When you reach the goal, use the red summon sign to invade his world. Once you defeat Old Knight Istvan, you’ll get one Runic arc and a Furlcalling finger remedy. When you get home, you will also receive the Scaled helmet, Shield, GlovesAnd Greaves.

Back at Volcano Manor, talk to Tanith again to get the Magma shot sorcery. Go down the hall to talk to Rya again and pick up another letter.

Rest at the place of mercy, and Rya will walk down the hall to the second room on the right. Talk to her there in her true form as Zorayas.

Go back and talk to Tanith again. This time you will be given the option to ask about Zorayas.

Kill Rileigh the Idle

The second letter from Volcano Manor points you to the Altus Plateau. Go to the Bridge of Iniquity Place of graceand then cross the bridge heading east. To the south there are a few Spiritspring Jumps that take you into the valley. Go north to Rileigh’s red summoning sign.

Beat him to it The bottle of Crepus and a little Black key bolts.

Return to Volcano Manor and talk to Tanith again to get the Snake bone leaf katana.

Reach the Prison City Church

Contact Rya in her room again and she will tell you about something she saw in the room next to hers: the first room on the right in the hallway. Go to that room.

In the back right corner, next to the corpse, dodge the roll to reveal an illusory wall. Go inside and follow the tunnel. Keep following it through the next room and past the Bloodhound Knight.

Eventually it will take you to the Prison City Church Site of Grace. Push open the church doors and then return to Rya.

Talk to her again tell her about the dark side of Volcano Manorand then go to the salon for the Red letter.

Talk to Tanith again and ask her about it The problems of Zorayas.

Reach the Temple of Eiglay and defeat the Godskin Noble

For the next part, you can hold off on the Volcano Manor contracts. Instead, return to the Prison Town Church. Work your way to the Site of Grace Guest Room and then to the Temple of Eiglay for the Godskin Noble boss fight.

Once you defeat the Godskin Noble, grab the Amnion of the snake from the altar behind where he appeared.

Give the Amnion of the Serpent to Zorayas

Return to Volcano Manor and find Rya in her room. Talk to her and give her the Amnion of the snake.

Go back and rest in the place of grace. Once you do, Rya will be gone. Talk to Tanith and ask her about it The absence of Zorayas. Talk to her again and she will give you the Tonic of forgetfulness.

Should you give Rya the tonic of oblivion?

Rya moves to a hidden room not far above the Eiglay Temple. You have to take the elevator in the temple, jump from the balcony and go to a lava lake.

To the northwest you’ll find a cooled lava path under a bridge that leads to her room. If you speak to her there, she will ask you to kill her. You have a few options to complete Rya’s quest line:

• Kill her. She immediately drops the Daedicar’s Woe talisman.
• Give her the Tonic of Forgetfulness. If you give her the tonic, she will go to sleep. Once you complete and kill the Volcano Manor questline Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, she returns to her room in the mansion. Talk to her, rest and return, and she will have left town The woe of Daedicar in her place.
• Don’t kill her or give her the tonic. Once you complete the Volcano Manor mission, return to her secret room and talk to her again. Go away and rest, then return to find the Daedicar’s Woe talisman and The letter of Zorayas.

What you choose does not affect the outcomes of other quest lines. Reading the contents of her letter if you choose not to kill her and not give her the tonic suggests that this is the better outcome – or at least the slightly more hopeful (less hopeless?) outcome.
