Ryan Seacrest’s ex, Shana Wall, is suing American Airlines over a drink she says contained plastic.
Wall, 51, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, claiming she suffered damage to her throat, vocal cords and digestive system from the plastic shards.
The lawsuit also states that the incident left her bedridden for months and unable to work, and required constant medical attention.
Wall, a certified sommelier from Manhattan, is seeking unspecified damages for the incident, which reportedly occurred on May 1.
She dated the TV host in the early 2000s and wrote that Americans had “an obligation to provide beverages and food that are uncontaminated and fit for consumption.” Seacrest, 49, recently split from 27-year-old model Aubrey Paige.

Wall, 51, filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, alleging damage to her throat, vocal cords and digestive system from the plastic shards.
‘[American] caused the dangerous, defective and unsafe condition on the aircraft,” an excerpt from the lawsuit, first reported by The New York Postto read.
‘[Wall] a drink was served in a glass containing broken plastic and shards, [causing] serious injuries to her throat, esophagus, vocal cords and digestive system.
‘[American] is strictly liable because it supplied the plaintiff with a drink that was contaminated and unfit for human consumption.’
The former ‘Amazing Race’ contestant said the incident occurred on an American Airlines flight out of John F. Kennedy International Airport and also provided some insight into the injuries she said she sustained as a result.
One passage reads: ‘She became ill, in pain, crippled and disabled; she was confined to her house and bed; she lost her zest for life.
‘She became unable to perform the duties of her profession, causing her to suffer loss of wages and economic income, [and] has incurred and will continue to incur costs for the treatment of her injuries.’
“She was forced to spend money on doctor’s services and other medical care and treatments,” the documents state.
The lawsuit ended with the airline seeking damages for the alleged negligence. No other details were provided.

She is now a certified sommelier in Manhattan and is seeking unspecified damages for the May 1 incident.

Since then, Seacrest has dated fitness influencers Shayna Taylor, Hilary Cruz, Renée Hall, Julianne Hough, Jasmine Waltz and Teri Hatcher, all of whom have since broken up.
The original American Idol host was recently in a relationship with Hough, and in May 2021, they went public with their relationship.
At the time, the couple was spotted at a party in the Hamptons on Memorial Day, and a few years later, on Seacrest’s final day at Live! With Kelly & Ryan in April 2023, Aubrey posted a three-photo tribute on Instagram.
“Ryan, I have never met a more inspiring man,” she wrote. “You make it look so easy, but the truth is there is simply no one else like you. I am so incredibly proud of you. Not only for your work ethic, but for your caring heart and the genuine love you give to others.”

In December, rumors of a rift between the two surfaced after Aubrey posted a photo of herself celebrating with her family, but without Ryan.
She also forgot to send a birthday greeting to the New Year’s Rockin’ Eve host when he turned 49 on Christmas Eve.

A spokesperson for Seacrest confirmed the split to DailyMail.com in April.
A source told People at the time of the split: ‘After three wonderful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways.
“They plan to remain in each other’s lives as good friends and support each other’s endeavors.”
Shortly after the split, Paige shared a video of herself in the pool enjoying a glass of wine, writing: ‘[Shoutout] to my haters, this one’s for you. Happy #winewednesday.’
The reel on her Instagram page was also accompanied by audio of Nicki Minaj in a previous interview, in which she said, “I know exactly what y’all saying about me. No. 1. And I don’t give a damn.”
Earlier this month, Hough, another of Seacrest’s exes, spoke highly of her whirlwind romance with the host, explaining that she was head over heels in love with the TV host and that during their three-year affair, which began in 2010, she “experienced things that I didn’t even know existed.”
