Ryan Seacrest can’t wait to start his next gig and admits he has already started rehearsals for his upcoming role as host of Wheel Of Fortune – in his own living room.
The veteran TV host appeared on Good Morning America on Monday, where he discussed taking over Pat Sajak’s iconic game show in 2024.
News that Seacrest, 48, would be taking over from 76-year-old Sajak to host Wheel Of Fortune was announced in June – and he’s apparently been deep in rehearsals at home ever since.
“I can’t even believe it myself,” he said on Monday’s episode of GMA, referring to his upcoming hosting duties.

“Pat is a legend,” Seacrest beamed when asked if he was looking forward to giving away prize money at the show.
“But to get in there and give away a lot of money to these participants is really the best part of the whole thing,” he said.
Seacrest was then asked if he was the type of person to play the game show from the couch.
“I still do it,” the American Idol host joked.

Seacrest will begin his reign on Wheel in 2024 following the 41st season of Sajak, which premiered on September 11.
A source close to the show told DailyMail.com at the time of Seacrest’s announcement that they were thrilled to have him on board.

Seacrest was asked if he was the type of person to play the game show from the couch. “I still do it,” the American Idol host joked. ‘I shout out the puzzles and my dog stares at me’
“Ryan is an institution. Him joining Wheel is the worst possible scenario,” they said.
“He has no baggage, drama or anything untoward in his career. He will be able to do his job well, he has a natural charisma, and people like him and feel safe with him. It won’t be a surprise if he does the show himself for forty years.’
In Seacrest’s personal announcement, he wrote, “I am truly humbled to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.
“I can say, along with the rest of America, that it has been a privilege and a pure joy to have Pat and Vanna on our television screens for forty years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”
Seacrest then addressed the show’s longtime host.

“Pat, I love the way you always put the spotlight on the contestants and put the viewers at home at ease.” He wrote. “I look forward to learning everything from you during this transition.”
Sajak commented on his decision to leave the show on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Well, the time has come. “I have decided that our 41st season, starting in September, will be my last,” he wrote in a tweet at the time.
“It’s been a wonderful ride and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Thank you very much to all of you. (If anything, it keeps the clickbait sites busy!)
Wheel Of Fortune has been airing continuously since January 1975 – Sajak’s predecessor Chuck Woolery served as host from its inception until 1981.
