Ryan Reynolds reveals his big ‘wish’ for pal Taylor Swift following Eras Tour
Ryan Reynolds praised his good friend Taylor Swift after wrapping up her highly successful Eras Tour concert.
The 48-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star opened up on Sunday THR about he and his wife Blake Lively’s relationship with the Cruel Summer singer and what he wished she could do during her concert tour.
When asked by the outlet if attending the 35-year-old hitmaker’s concert prompted investigation, the actor said the show is “something to see.”
He replied: ‘Research? There’s no comp for that. It’s something to see.’
The father-of-four said he wished the Mirrorball singer could have sat back and watched her own energetic performance from the stands.
“I told Taylor a while ago that I wish she had the chance to look at herself from the audience, even if just for a moment,” he said.

Reynolds and the 37-year-old It Ends With Us actress attended three Eras Tour shows: October 25 and 26 in New Orleans, and May 29 in Madrid.
In late October, following the Eras Tour, Reynolds took to his Instagram to express his support for the You Belong With Me singer in a similar manner.
Sharing footage from the show, he wrote: ‘I don’t understand the incredible work, care, talent and discipline that @taylorswift generates to create an experience like this because I’m not a scientist. It is an athletic event and a collective cultural phenomenon.
‘It’s huge but intimate. The only downside is that she can’t sit in the audience to experience what everyone else sees and feels. To keep an eye on herself, there’s something I wish she could know. But that’s not physically possible and even if it were, you can’t just get tickets at the last minute.’
Reynolds, Lively and Swift have been close friends since 2015 and have since been spotted together at parties and more recently at Kansas City Chiefs games in support of the pop star’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
In a nod to her best BFFs, Swift named the characters in her song Betty after Ryan and Blake’s then three children: James, Inez and Betty. The track appears on her 2020 album Folklore.
The Eras Tour kicked off last March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, and raised more than $1.04 billion, making it the highest-grossing tour in history, according to AP.
During her stops on the Eras Tour, the August singer played four surprise songs – which changed with each show – on piano and acoustic guitar.
And she played almost every record in her discography of more than 300 songs that she has performed during her twenty-year career as a recording artist.
Swift wrapped up the Eras Tour in Vancouver, Canada on December 8. The last three shows in Vancouver were actively filmed by a two-person camera crew, convincing fans that she was filming a second tour movie.
Swift secretly filmed the concert film during her series of shows in Los Angeles in August 2023 – the film was released two months later on October 13.
The film holds the record as the highest-grossing concert film of all time, grossing over $261 million worldwide.
Taylor Swift and her team have yet to confirm if another film project is in the works. Nevertheless, fans are almost certain that the blonde beauty – who is known for her Easter eggs and surprises – has a secret sequel in store.

The Eras Tour Book was released earlier this month exclusively at Target for $39.99.
Describing the set’s visuals and props, Swift said she wanted to “create the illusion of an alien abduction, a battle scene, a religious institution, a mental institution, a haunted house and a showgirl’s dressing room routine.”
The singer also described the book as the ‘official retrospective of the most beautiful tour of her life.’
She also sparked rumors of a possible twelfth album and a new tour with the last line in the Eras Tour Book: ‘See you next era.’
