Ryan Reynolds couldn’t resist waxing lyrical about his wife Blake Lively at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere in New York City on Monday.
During a screening of his highly anticipated superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Deadpool, the 47-year-old actor praised the tireless support the 36-year-old Gossip Girl alum has given him over the years.
“She’s amazing. She’s so smart, everything I do is in step with her and now she just takes every step with me — sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the steps that, more often than not, are directly aimed at danger,” he said. Entertainment tonight.
The father of four continued: “I’m so grateful to her. She’s just so smart and so funny and [she] really helped a lot in every aspect of this film.’
In addition to helping promote his latest project, the Vancouver native also praised Lively for being a millennial who influenced and inspired many of the jokes.

At the premiere, Lively turned heads in a stunning Atelier Versace catsuit featuring black embroidery and bling from Lorraine Schwartz and Ofira Jewels.
Her look, which was inspired by her husband’s title character in Deadpool, caused quite a stir when she walked the red carpet alongside her supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
While Lively paid tribute to Deadpool, Hadid, 29, wore a chic yellow ensemble by Miu Miu, inspired by Wolverine’s yellow X-Men uniform.
When asked how she felt supporting Reynolds at the event, Lively playfully joked that she felt like he was “supporting” her tonight.
“I feel like he’s my plus one. That’s the energy I bring,” she mused, nodding at the attention her outfit would inevitably receive. “He’s here to support me, and I’m so grateful for his support tonight.”
Reynolds, who has four children with Lively: James, nine, Inez, seven, Betty, four, and 16-month-old Olin, revealed the name of their youngest during the event.
When Reynolds took the stage, he specifically thanked his wife Blake, 36, and their four children, all of whom he mentioned by name.
“She’s amazing. She’s so smart, everything I do is in sync with her and now she just takes every step with me — sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the steps that, more often than not, are right up against danger,” he told Entertainment Tonight (pictured at the afterparty for the world premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday night).
The fourth baby’s name has been a secret since they welcomed their child in February 2023.
Ryan shared that their fourth child is named Olin.
The name Olin is of Scandinavian origin and means heir of the ancestor or inheritance.
Normally a boy’s name, Blake and Ryan have not yet revealed the gender of their fourth child.

“I want to start by thanking my wife Blake, who’s here. I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who’s here,” Ryan said onstage at the premiere Monday night, according to Variety.
“I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic — that is, the content of this film — that happens to you in your miraculous lives,” he said.
The stars never officially announced the birth of their fourth child. Instead, they shared a photo of themselves on February 12, 2023, in tight jeans and a crop top without a baby bump.
Blake also revealed in the caption that she had had her baby: “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023. Been busy,” she wrote.

The actress also shared a slideshow of snaps of herself during her 2022 pregnancy, which also featured her best friend Taylor Swift.
The couple first met in 2010 on the set of their film Green Lantern.
The following year, in October 2011, they started dating.
The lovebirds married on September 9, 2012, in South Carolina and welcomed their first child, James, in December 2014, their second child, Inez, in September 2016, Betty in October 2019, and Olin in February 2023.
