Greta appeared in the BTS action mimicking Ken’s choreography, going into hysterics at times.
In July, Mark told Vanity Fair that the hit single came about when he reflected on how ‘nobody cares*** to buy a Ken doll’.
He added that he came to visualize the character as an “unhappy but immediately likeable figure.”
In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan said, “No one plays with Ken, man.
“They never played with Ken. He’s an accessory and not even one of the cool ones.’
Ryan also revealed that his daughters Esmeralda, eight, and Amada, seven, pushed him to take on the role of Ken in the film because they disrespected their Ken dolls.
He added, “I walk into the backyard and do you know where I found Ken, Jimmy?
“He was lying face down in the mud next to a crushed lemon.”
He took a picture of the scene and sent it to Greta as his acceptance. He wrote, “I’ll be your Ken, for this story must be told.”
