Ryan Gosling surprises fans at Universal Studios Hollywood for Fall Guy Stuntacular cameo as he thanks stunt doubles for making him ‘look cool’

Ryan Gosling gives a whole new meaning to the term ‘publicity stunt’ as he promotes his latest film.

The 43-year-old Academy Award nominee made a surprise cameo alongside director David Leitch during Universal Studios Hollywood’s debut of The Fall Guy Stuntacular pre-show on Saturday.

Before the theme park’s Waterworld show, the Stuntacular featured an actor acting as director, welcoming Gosling to the stage as ‘Bryan’ and later mistaking him for Ryan Reynolds.

The fake director then tried to get Gosling involved in the show. “No, I just came to say hello,” the actor joked People.

However, Leitch, 48, also a stunt performer, became involved when he flew on a cable over the water around the stage.

“The film is a comedy, a drama, a love letter to the stunt community,” says The Fall Guy's Gosling.

After some whining about the film, which is loosely based on the 1980s ABC series, Gosling came to his defense. “I think he makes it sound less original than it is,” he said.

“The film is a comedy, a drama, a love letter to the stunt community,” Gosling said. “It’s getting really good reviews, so check it out if you feel like it.”

Gosling was also joined by his stunt doubles Ben Jenkin and Logan Holladay, whom he acknowledged with praise in the audience.

“I see two lion hearts there now,” he said in an excerpt shared by TMZ. “First of all, you guys make me look really good, let’s be honest.

“Logan broke the world record for most canon roles in a film ever,” he continued. So he makes me look like a great driver.

“And Ben makes me look cool every time I get set on fire or do something cool, really, or Parkour-y. That’s Ben.’

Gosling added: “You both have the makings of a leading man, let’s be honest. So if you ever start acting, I’m in trouble.”

He and Leitch then tied the “director” to a cable and sent him across the water before running away. ‘Where are you going?’ he screamed.

“We’re going to see The Fall Guy,” Gosling shouted.
