Ryan Gosling reveals longtime partner Eva Mendes and daughters gave helpful ‘tips’ for his I’m Just Ken Oscars performance: ‘It was great!’

Ryan Gosling revealed he got helpful “tips” from his longtime partner, Eva Mendes, and their two daughters ahead of his Oscar performance for I’m Just Ken on Sunday.

The Barbie actor, 43 – who was announced as the upcoming host for Saturday Night Live next month in April – took to the stage while speaking to People at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas Tuesday.

He attended the festivities to celebrate the premiere of his latest project, The Fall Guy, which will officially hit theaters later this year on May 3.

“It was amazing,” Gosling told the newspaper as he talked about Mendes, 50, and their daughters Esmeralda, nine, and Amada, seven.

“It was so fun because they came to the dress rehearsal the day before so they were in the front row,” Ryan continued, adding, “They gave me some tips and some notes, all great notes.”

“They are such a big part of this for me… it was my girl’s interest in Barbie and disinterest in Ken that got me into this in the first place. It was wonderful to have them there in the end.’

During the memorable performance, the actor dressed for the occasion in a bright pink suit with rhinestone details that sparkled under the bright stage lights.

The actor also wore a pink shirt underneath while donning a pair of sleek black dress shoes. As a finishing touch, he also wore a pair of stylish black shades.

He brought the audience to their feet as he belted out the lyrics, and also jumped into the crowd, allowing his co-star Margot Robbie and other celebrities to join in and sing the song.

Eva was particularly supportive of Gosling, sharing a short video of herself standing outside his dressing room at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, where the ceremony was held. In the caption, she affectionately wrote, “Always by my husband.”

In a separate post, she posed wearing the bedazzled pink blazer that Gosling had also worn.

The Ghost Rider actress jokingly typed, “You took Ken all the way to the Oscars, RG. Now come home, we have to put the kids to bed.”

Mendes recently opened up about the reason that both she and Ryan don’t pose together on the red carpet.

The actress uploaded a clip of her and Gosling starring together in the 2011 film Place Beyond The Pines.

‘Magic is real. We didn’t meet on set. The magic started a long time ago, but here’s a little bit of magic caught on camera…,” she wrote.

One fan replied, “Eva, I want to be honest but I hope Barbie makes it through Awards season just to see you with Ryan. I know I’m selfish and probably a dreamer, but I’ll never stop dreaming about it!!”

The mother of two replied: “You are the best! What a cool comment; Thank you. But we don’t do those things together… Like these photos I posted, I only feel comfortable posting them because they’re already available.”

However, she quickly added, “Oh wait, for those who might catch me in a ‘lie’, we’ve only been on the red carpet together once when we were promoting this movie.”

During SXSW, Ryan also revealed that he “fell” several floors off a building despite his “fear of heights” in the upcoming action-comedy titled The Fall Guy, while chatting with People.

“They dropped me off a building, and I’m afraid of heights,” the star — who plays a retired stuntman — told the outlet.

Gosling then explained that he wanted to do “a few” because it was “important” to him, although he admitted that he “would have happily said I didn’t do any of my own stunts in this movie.”

Ryan added, “It helped me understand on a small level exactly what (stunt workers) do every day.”

The premise follows his character of Colt Seavers, “a stuntman who left the company a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health.”

“It’s a chance to finally recognize stunt performers and the incredible contributions they already make to films,” the star continued.

Not long after its premiere at SXSW, The Fall Guy was already receiving critical acclaim and currently has a high score of 94% on Rotten tomatoes.

Last weekend, Ryan and his co-star Emily Blunt took the stage at the 96th Academy Awards, where the duo paid special tribute to stunt performers — and also poked fun at “Barbenheimer.”
