Ryan Gosling describes rest of his life in just five words on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while promoting new action comedy movie The Fall Guy
Ryan Gosling was asked to describe the rest of his life in just five words on Thursday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS.
The 43-year-old Canadian actor was given the challenge by host Stephen, 59, while playing The Colbert Questionert.
“Let Eva do it first,” Ryan replied, referring to his partner Eva Mendes, 50.
Ryan recorded the segment for the network talk show as part of his media blitz to promote his new movie The Fall Guy.
Stephen told Ryan that his show had developed a “proven way to penetrate the bark of insulation that we as human beings wrap around our hearts.”

He then asked the same fifteen questions that other celebrities have answered as part of The Colbert Questionert.
“What’s the best sandwich?” Stephen asked in the traditional first question.
“Ice cream,” Ryan replied.
“I’ll see how this goes,” Stephen said.
‘Because you could have all the sandwiches in the world and it would be a tough decision. But when the ice cream sandwich comes out, your decision is made. Your decision is made for you,” Ryan said.
“Are you licking the edges?” Stephen asked.
“That’s none of your business,” Ryan joked.
Ryan revealed that his first concert was Elvis Perry and explained that his uncle Perry used to perform as Elvis.
The 43-year-old Canadian actor referred to his partner Eva Mendes, who were seen together in Toronto in September 2012, when he was asked to describe the rest of his life in five words.
Stephen told Ryan that his show had developed a “proven way to penetrate the bark of isolation that we as human beings wrap around our hearts.”

‘He was great. The best I’ve ever seen. He involved me in his actions. I gave out teddy bears during Teddy Bear,” Ryan said.
“What’s the scariest animal?” Stephen asked.
“Man,” Ryan replied.
‘Am I wrong? Or the mosquito. Kill more people than anything,” Ryan said, laughing.
“Apples or oranges,” Stephen asked.
Ryan said it was “hard” to choose between them.
‘Oranges help against scurvy and I don’t want that again. You can make a hookah from the apple,” Ryan said.
“What do you think happens when we die?” Stephen asked.

“We’re waking up,” Ryan said.
Stephen asked Ryan to name his favorite action move, other than his new movie The Fall Guy.
Ryan first mentioned the 1985 martial arts film No Retreat, No Surrender, about a teenager who learns how to fight bullies from the mind of Bruce Lee.
He then said that First Blood starring Sylvester Stallone, while Vietnam War veteran John Rambo was his favorite.
“He just wanted to have a cup of coffee in that restaurant, Stephen. He was just John and they made him Rambo. They forced him to be Rambo. He didn’t want to be Rambo. He just wanted a cup of coffee, but he had long hair and had to go out of town,” Ryan said.
“Favorite scent,” Stephen said.

He said dog paws smell like popcorn or nachos.
‘And my dog George, who is no longer with us, had the perfect mix. He was nachos and popcorn,” Ryan said.
“Oldest memory?” Stephen asked.
‘My mother used to bake cakes as an extra income. And I remember one morning I woke up to the smell of a cake baking and I went into the kitchen and she made this wedding cake and she plugged it in and a waterfall came down. And she had built a motor in it and water fell into the cake and I remember thinking, my mom is pretty cool,” Ryan said.
‘If you only have one song that you can listen to for the rest of your life. What is? Stephen asked.
‘Push It’ by Salt-n-Pepa. It hasn’t gotten old yet. And it’s great life advice,” Ryan said of the New York City hip-hop group’s 1987 song.
“Whatever it is, you know. Push it. And if you’re going to do it, push it, do it really well,” Ryan said.

The Fall Guy, also starring Emily Blunt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, was released on May 3 by Universal Pictures.
