Rhodri Giggs has insisted he could ‘bury’ Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs if he wanted to because of his brother’s long-running affair with his wife.
In 2011, it emerged that Natasha Lever had an eight-year affair with husband Rhodri’s brother Ryan – who was also married to wife Stacey at the time – which took up much of his time at United.
Lever and Ryan conducted illegal liaisons in hotel rooms and vacant properties that she had access to through her job as a real estate agent, which Rhodri claims accidentally gave her the idea.
However, thirteen years ago the scandal broke when, according to Rhodri, Natasha’s mother arrived at his home to show him the story in a newspaper while his wife had fled to Spain.
Speaking The Central ClubRhodri explained to his brother, insisting that he could have caused serious harm to the 50-year-old if he had wanted to by selling stories to the media, as his family has accused him of doing for decades.

“All I’ve tried to be is a good father and husband, and he’s been flirting, and he’s just an idiot,” said Rhodri, himself a former football player. ‘I know what it’s about, they keep thinking that when I was younger I sold stories because I was friends with a reporter because I liked him.
“That doesn’t mean I’m selling secret stories, and they still think that to this day. They’re fucking idiots, where’s the proof? There is no evidence. The only little thing is I made up stories, I’d say his Bentley was black when it was blue.
“This was 27 years ago, we were doing well, but as soon as this all happens, because I sold my story about this, they say, he’s at it again. I wasn’t going to (on this occasion) because I was talking to Ryan about getting our relationship back on track, but he had to do that, I’m not going to push it, and I had nothing for six or seven months.
“If I wanted to sell some stories, I would have done it last year and buried this son of a bitch, buried him. There are some stories I know that could have buried him, so if I wanted to sell stories I would, but why would I want to do that? Why? I would not do it.
“I’m not that bitter and I’m not that twisted, but he has to be careful because I could have done that too. A lot of people could have done that, but they didn’t, and it’s all because he made the choices he made, and no one else. You can’t go through life with this nice, innocent family man if you’re bashing everything in sight. How old is he, 48, 49? He needs to grow the fuck up.”
Rhodri said he could have sold stories about his brother after his 2022 assault trial
Although Rhodri claims to have moved on, he has opened up about the ordeal and starred in a Paddy Power advert mocking his brother.
Ryan was arrested in November 2020 on suspicion of two charges against former partner Kate Greville and her sister Emma.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm to Greville, as well as coercing and controlling a partner against her and common assault on Emma.
The jury was discharged in August 2022 and Giggs was acquitted in July 2023 after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges, with Greville unwilling to testify in a retrial.
“They went to court, he was supposed to go for a retrial, but he never did,” Rhodri said of the incident. ‘For me, an argument with two women and a guy is nothing really. He would have hit her, they are both as bad as each other. One of them did her makeup to make it look like she had been abused even more and there was a photo of it in the papers.
‘He can call me whenever he wants. I have moved on, I have a new career in schools. I have largely dealt with all the misery I have experienced in my life alone.’

Rhodri talked about the challenges he faced regarding his brother at The Central Club
Rhodri went on to talk about his brother’s betrayal, which took place over ten years ago.
Despite being hurt by what happened, the 46-year-old said he never had to deal with low points, and spoke openly about what happened, including starring in a famous Paddy Power advert about loyalty.
“There are still some things I don’t know, but some things I do know,” he said. “He tried to do things that backfired tremendously. He’s a bit like me, a bit calmer and more boring. He has a good personality, I think he’s just been damaged by the media and the people who have been after him since he was 17, but some of it is his own doing. If you don’t recognize things, speculation will start. But he chose the path and he has to live with it.”
‘I already suspected it three or four years ago. I talked to my mom about it, she said no, don’t be silly. Mama’s boy. She didn’t want to tell me to my face because she was afraid I might have done something stupid. That would never have happened.
‘I went to Will Mellor’s house, stayed with him and my mum, brother, Callum, Carly, Paul, Hayley (relatives) were all in Spain and asked me to come with them. He was with his wife and children and wanted me to go there, but that didn’t happen.
‘Eventually he had the courage to meet me three or four weeks later. It was at a friend’s house, he said it was about sex, it wasn’t this, he was actually feeling sorry for himself and told me his contract with Reebok was worthless, it was the stupidest contract in the world considering it fact that he gets paid a lot just to wear sneakers and that’s the damn contract. Well, you drew it, damn it.
“It was all like I was going to grab the stick and pull out the damn violin. That is him. I felt sorry for him, all the things you’ve done and you’re carrying on like an asshole, just get away from me.”
Ryan’s rankings have been relatively low since he faced trial in 2022 after quitting his job as Wales manager
Ryan has kept a relatively low profile since coming to trial in 2022, resigning as Wales manager in June of that year amid the trial.
He has done his best to stay out of the public eye, although Rhodri has admitted he is ready to move on with his life and would be willing to rekindle the couple’s relationship if the opportunity arises.
