Ryan Garcia’s PED scandal took a new twist after the results of a test for a possible different steroid emerged Tuesday evening.

Garcia was on the run after his urine samples prior to his April 20 win over Devin Haney revealed traces of the banned substance Ostarine.

The sample also showed banned PED 19-Norandrosterone. However, upon further testing, VADA results showed that the second substance was not confirmed in the urine sample. Nevertheless, the Ostarine traces remain after the last tests.

‘Urine sample @RyanGarcia provided a positive result for Ostarine on April 19, but also showed that banned PED 19-Norandrosterone needed more testing to confirm. That’s done,” Dan Rafael tweeted on Tuesday. “According to the laboratory report sent to VADA that I obtained, ‘it did not confirm.’ THERE IS NO 3rd test failure.”

While Garcia has less to worry about knowing he didn’t test positive for two banned substances, there is still room for consequences given the Ostarine traces.

Garcia tried to use the development as proof of his innocence, writing on social media: “So y’all realize I failed the tests now. No substance other than this imaginary ostrich substance… that low would have no effect whatsoever. They have tried, but there is no lie that praises God.

Ostarine was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2008 and placed on the list of anabolic substances in 2022. The New York State Athletic Commission told ESPN last week that it is “in communication with VADA and is investigating the matter.”

After the positive test results came out on May 1, Garcia requested analysis of his B sample, according to a letter obtained by ESPN.

If Garcia’s request is granted but his B sample is still positive, the Victorville resident and his legal team will have to present their case to prove his innocence. Otherwise, he risks a suspension and a fine, on top of having his win over Haney overturned.

“Everyone knows I don’t cheat,” Garcia said in a video posted to X on May 1. ‘Never taken a steroid. I don’t even know where to get steroids. I hardly take any supplements.’

On Tuesday, Garcia also claimed he was “high as f***” during the fight but did not use PEDs.

“If I had been on steroids, I would have been in much better shape,” Garcia, who was 3 pounds overweight, claimed on the Fully Tilted podcast. “I literally drank and smoked weed every day – I didn’t stop, not even until the damn day of the fight. I came in there high as f***, and I beat his a**.”

“It was a walk in the damn park,” he continued. “I’ve had tougher fights in sparring, bruh. It wasn’t difficult at all. Even Devin said, “I’ve never been outclassed so easily.” Bro, steroids didn’t help with that, brother.’
