Ryan Garcia CHARGED with vandalism and could face one year behind bars after alleged meltdown at five-star LA hotel
Ryan Garcia is adamantly refusing to be jailed over his alleged hotel collapse.
The suspended boxer was charged with vandalism on Thursday after he vandalized a room and hallway at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills on June 8.
The charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Los Angeles on August 7.
In response to the news, Garcia stated on social media, “I am absolutely not going to jail.”
Of course, that decision can’t be left up to Garcia, who recently agreed to check into rehab before reportedly assaulting his terrified ex-wife in a disturbing scene captured on social media. Garcia has since apologized to his ex, saying he “woke up the next morning with regret in his eyes for everything I did.”

Garcia was arrested on the afternoon of June 8 after he allegedly vandalized property in the hotel, including the room he was staying in and the hallway leading out to it. The damage is said to have been worth $15,000.
TMZ reported that Garcia “appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs,” but added that he cooperated with authorities during his arrest. The publication has video of his arrest, which shows him shirtless and wearing a helmet.
The 25-year-old defeated Devin Haney earlier this year, but his erratic behavior in the lead-up to the fight led many to question whether he was mentally stable enough to fight. He has since failed a drug test following his surprise victory, resulting in a one-year suspension from the New York Athletic Commission.
He is given a one-year suspension, loses his $1.2 million contract, and must pay a $10,000 fine. His win over Haney is also officially overturned to a no-contest.
Garcia is torn between remorse and defiance over a series of incidents in 2024.
He recently blamed “the elite” for his expulsion from the WBC after audio recordings of him making racist comments surfaced online.
