Ruth Langsford showed fans the horrific bruises on her mother Joan’s face after she fell last week.
The Loose Women presenter, 64, has been in and out of hospital to visit Joan, 94, after breaking her pelvis in a nasty fall.
Showing Joan’s painful injuries, Ruth wrote: ‘Mama got a good shine after her fall! [crying face emoji] I try to soften it with Arnica cream.’
In good humor, Ruth joked, “94 years old and barely any gray hair… I hope I inherited the gene!”
Ruth explained in the fall that this year’s Christmas would be different because she would spend it without her mother.
The star revealed this isn’t the first time her mother has broken her pelvis, but hoped she would recover as well as last time.

Ruth wrote: ‘No dancing in my kitchen peeling vegetables for my dear mother this Christmas…she fell and broke her pelvis!
‘She is doing well, fortunately no surgery is required, but she now needs rest and time to heal. She is currently in the hospital, but I hope to get her home soon.
‘This time last year she fell and broke her hip, but recovered well. She is a very strong woman, so I am sure she will recover from this too. Puts life and what’s important into perspective, eh? Merry Christmas! Xx’.

Ruth appeared to accept ex-husband Eamonn’s peace offer and sent the similar back to a post from he and co-host Isabel Webster as they wrapped up their final show of the year.
It comes after Eamonn publicly showed support for ex-wife Ruth as she made an emotional visit to her ailing mother Joan in hospital earlier this week.
In his first notable contact with Ruth since their divorce, the GB News presenter liked her post.
But the estranged couple’s relationship has not thawed, despite the cryptic Instagram post.

The couple confirmed that their 14-year marriage is over in June and are believed to be keen on a quick divorce once Christmas and New Year are over.
Eamonn’s co-host Isabel will be replaced by Ellie Costello, 31, during the working week as part of a number of big changes announced by the broadcaster.
The 41-year-old, who had previously worked for Sky News and the BBC, has been part of the show since its launch in 2022.
A spokesperson for GB News said on Wednesday: ‘Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, co-presenting with Eamonn Holmes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and with Stephen Dixon on Thursdays and Fridays.
‘Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends.’

Following Eamonn’s olive branch to Ruth in the post about her mother, the presenter took to Instagram on Thursday to share an emotional tribute to his late mother.
He wrote: ‘When people ask me, “What do you want for Christmas?” 3 Christmases without you now mom and you are still at the top of my wish list ‘
It’s understood Eamonn and Ruth are hoping to settle their divorce soon – with Ruth too keep their £3.5 million Surrey mansion.
“The aim is for Eamonn and Ruth to resolve their divorce as soon as possible in the new year,” a source told The Sun.
‘Ruth would like to stay in their marital home because that is where she is based. Eamonn, on the other hand, wants to get out and make a fresh start. They are not behind and want this to be arranged as quickly as possible.’
Eamonn recently sparked speculation that he is engaged to Alexander after she was spotted wearing a large ring on her engagement finger during a romantic getaway to Paris last week.
