Ruth Langsford shows ex-husband Eamonn Holmes what he’s missing as she debuts a glamorous new look in a video while still wearing her wedding ring following their divorce

Ruth Langsford showed off her glamorous new hairdo on Instagram on Sunday following her split from husband Eamonn Holmes.

The 64-year-old TV presenter showed off her wedding ring while filming the new music video while getting her hair done at a salon.

Ruth added some length to her locks, as her hairdresser added new long extensions before chopping them off to shoulder length.

After curling her locks, she appeared to be in good spirits as she showed off her stunning new hairdo to her 1.1 million followers.

Ruth wrote: ‘Extensions time again! @leobancroft salon I’ve decided to keep them a bit longer this time (many of you told me to do that last time!)

‘Fitted by the lovely Lauren (you can also book Kristen) cut and styled by Leo. I’m not good at doing this “bendy wave” stuff so not sure if I’ll keep them that long but I’ll give it a try! Thanks @leobancroft, lovely to catch up!’

Fans responded en masse to the Loose Women star’s comment, telling her she ‘looks younger’ with her longer hair.

‘Ruth, you look beautiful and it makes you look younger! That cut really suits you!; Gorgeous, Ruth! You look radiant and younger!’

‘Beautiful. Longer hair makes you look younger; 10 years younger in the blink of an eye! Awesome ; Ruth, you look fantastic ; That’s beautiful Ruth, suits you’.

Her new look comes after the ex-husband of Eamonn’s new girlfriend Katie Alexander broke his silence on his ex-wife’s new relationship.

George Alexander, who was in a relationship with Katie before she started dating the GB News presenter, said he had “a lot of sympathy” for Ruth.

In May, Eamonn and Ruth announced they were divorcing after 14 years of marriage, with it later emerging that he was in a relationship with the blonde, 42-year-old relationship therapist.

Speaking with The sun George, who was married to Katie from 2010 to 2022, said: “I have a lot of sympathy for Ruth.”

“My heart was broken when my marriage to Katie ended.”

Addition: ‘It took me a few years to recover. I know how desperate Ruth must feel. She’s going through the same thing I did after our marriage ended.’

George also stressed that his ex-wife had “a heart” and would therefore undoubtedly take Ruth’s feelings into account.

MailOnline has contacted Katie’s representatives for comment.

This follows MailOnline’s revelations that Katie was desperate to go public with the romance, but Eamonn had repeatedly held off on sharing the news to protect his estranged wife’s feelings.

The host instead limits the dates to time spent at his new Richmond apartment.

Katie is said to be frustrated at having to spend so much time in Eamonn’s sweltering apartment and not being able to talk openly about their romance.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Katie wants the world to see they are a couple, but Eamonn is keeping things under wraps for now.’

The insider continued: ‘It’s pretty warm in [his apartment] because he doesn’t have air conditioning and she likes to go on dates in public.

‘Eamonn is excited about their relationship, but he wants to remain respectful and doesn’t want to make it public yet.’

Eamonn’s representatives declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

Earlier this month, rumors circulated that the couple were engaged, but this turned out to be untrue. Eammon reportedly sent his estranged wife a reassuring message amid the commotion.

The rumors started after Katie was spotted wearing a stunning diamond ring.

However, friends of theirs later denied that they were engaged.

In an attempt to protect Ruth’s feelings, Eamonn is said to have contacted her to quash speculation about an engagement.

A source told MailOnline: ‘There are other people involved and I know Eamonn had to message Ruth to let her know there was nothing to the engagement rumours.’

The insider added that Katie is keen to go public with their relationship, now that it has grown out of a close friendship, but that Eamonn is being coy.

They said: ‘Katie just wants to get it over with quickly, but Eamonn is less keen because he doesn’t want to hurt Ruth’s feelings.’

Eamonn has previously expressed his hope of maintaining a friendship with Ruth, telling The Mirror: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”

The TV star had an intimate relationship with Katie, a counselor who specialized in “affairs and betrayal.”

The star showered Katie with gifts and trips and became friends with her children as their relationship grew closer.

The breakfast host treated Katie and her family to a trip to Woburn Safari Park in Bedford in February, and they even posted snaps of their outing on social media.

Eamonn has not publicly revealed that he was on a day trip with his new companion.

Katie’s head was just visible in the back of the jeep he was posing in front of.

Last year he treated her and her two youngest children to a stay at Center Parcs and last year to a performance by Beyoncé.

Eamonn, a die-hard Manchester United fan, gave Katie and her children his tickets to a Premier League match at Old Trafford last season.

And to further infuriate his now estranged wife Ruth, Katie left her home in the north on several occasions to stay at the four-star Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge, Surrey – just a 10-minute drive from Eamonn’s marital home.

Katie was spotted at the sprawling spa destination – next to Mercedes Benz World and a race track – in March and was described as a ‘frequent visitor’.

The counsellor told her friends she had had a “wonderful weekend” and that she had also visited Northern Ireland with Eamonn.

Also last October, the TV star attended a small fundraising event at Yorkshire mental health charity Platform 1, where she agreed to become a patron. It was just minutes from Katie’s home.

Katie has worked at the charity, which is a nine-hour drive from Eamonn’s home, for two years.

Divorced Katie met Eamonn through Twitter after she commented on a post that sparked a conversation in 2015.
